Take It By Force Community Outreach Event

Clarksville, TN – On April 30th, Take It By Force Ministries led by Alea Rogers hosted a Community Outreach Event at the park in Lincoln Homes. The event featured live Gospel performances and praise dancers. It also included personal testimonies and inspirational messages filled with hope for listeners.
Food and beverages were provided to spectators as many organizations came together from Clarksville and Nashville to reach out to the community. Towards the end, balloons were released in remembrance of murder and suicide victims as well as those who have passed away.

Increasing Colorful Fruit and Vegetable Consumption among Families
Clarksville, TN – March 23rd, 2011 through March 24th, 2011 is Spring Adventure for the families in public housing (Lincoln Homes, Summit Heights and Caldwell Lane) during spring break on March 23rd and March 24th. The event dates are as follows: Lincoln Homes: Wednesday, March 23rd from 10:00am – 12:00pm; Summit Heights: Wednesday, March 23rd from 1:30pm-3:30pm; Edmondson Ferry Road neighborhood: Thursday, March 24th from 1:00pm-3:00pm.
This event comes during March’s National Nutrition Month. The American Dietetic Association (ADA) comes up with a nutrition theme every year to promote healthy eating. The 2011 theme for March’s National Nutrition Month is “Eat Right with Color.” The Tennessee Consumer Education Program (TNCEP) and the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) have put a spin on the theme to make it more kid-friendly, and have named the event “Eat the Rainbow.” [Read more]

Nonprofit organization and community center provide recreation and supplies for youth
On Saturday, July 24th at 12:00pm the L.E.A.P. Organization awarded April Ogburn with Scholarship for her outstanding performance in the LEAP Intern Program and being accepted into Lane College. Trophies were awarded to winners fo each bracket.
As a result to donations from LEAP and the community we were able to collect over 240 packs of paper and other items for the Back to School Bash. This event also gave our youth a positive outlet to fellowship and build teams in a safe and secure environment.
L.E.A.P. ORG, Convenient Shopper & Emmanuel Family Life Center Host 3rd Annual Back 2 School Basketball Tournament

Nonprofit organization and community center provide recreation and supplies for youth
On Friday, July 23rd at 5:00pm the L.E.A.P. Organization and the Convenient Shopper will be hosting a 3 on 3 Back 2 School Basketball Tournament at the Emmanuel Family Life Center. Spectators and players are asked to donate school supplies such as notebook paper, notebooks, crayons and etc. Supplies will be given to youth in Lincoln Homes and Summit Heights who may not have transportation to visit some of the other local back to school bashes.
This is a free event and is open to the public.
The L.E.A.P. ORG, First Missionary Baptist Church, Faith Outreach Church, HOPE, Delta Psi Chi Fraternity, Inc. and Young Daughters of Destiny will distribute the backpacks of supplies to Summit Heights at 3:30pm and Lincoln Homes at 5:30pm on Thursday, July 29th.
