Liberty Park Pond to be closed June 5th-11th

Clarksville, TN – In order to provide a fun experience for participants in the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA) Youth Fishing Rodeo on June 9th, 2012 we ask that the public refrain from using the pond at Liberty Park beginning at 6:00am on June 5th through 2:00pm on June 11th.
The Youth Fishing Rodeo is a free event coordinated at Liberty Park pond on Saturday, June 9th. For more information about the fishing rodeo, please visit www.cityofclarksville.com.

Clarksville’s Liberty Park opened Friday

Clarksville, TN – Liberty Park opened yesterday morning at dawn and Clarksvillians were ready and waiting for the opening of the park areas of the new Clarksville Marina.
Fishermen were the first on hand. They had been eying the pond for months looking forward for the chance to be one of the first anglers to try their luck there. By 10:00am around 20 anglers had staked out their positions around the banks.

Liberty Park Opens to the Public May 18th

Clarksville, TN – On Friday, May 18th, 2012, most of Liberty Park will be open for public use.
“We are thrilled that the day is here when we can allow the public to use most of these incredible facilities. The boat ramps have seen significant use already as has the marina basin. Now, more of the park will be available for fishing, walking, picnicking and all kinds of outdoor fun,” said Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department issues new requirements for dogs entering Liberty Park’s off-leash Bark Park

Clarksville, TN – In an effort to reduce the risk of the spread of possible disease in canines in Montgomery County and to reduce the number of aggressive dog incidents, the City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is requiring that all dogs entering the off-leash bark park at Liberty Park have the following vetting: Rabies vaccination, parvovirus vaccination, distemper vaccination and be spayed or neutered. Nashville, TN – The Annual Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Clarksville Parks and Recreation Youth Fishing Rodeo will be held Saturday, June 9th, 2012 at the Liberty Park Pond in Clarksville Tennessee.
The 2012 Free Fishing Day in Tennessee is also Saturday, June 9th when anyone in the state may fish free without a license in Tennessee’s public waters. [Read more]
APSU’s 18th annual Governors Bass Tournament just two weeks away

Clarksville, TN – The 18th annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament is less than two weeks from dropping anchor.
The 2012 edition will be held Saturday, May 12th, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing, Tennessee, State Park. Last season’s tourney was postponed one week due to high waters and flooding that enveloped the area. Despite the delay, the tourney still drew 243 boats.

Clarksville Marina’s Next Phase is under way

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan is announcing two new developments toward the opening of Clarksville’s Marina at Liberty Park.
“The developer, Cumberland River, LLC, began mobilizing the slips this week with the first shipment arriving today. As we’ve previously discussed, they are being assembled off-site and are then brought in for installation. The installation process is now underway. This is an important step as we move ever closer to being able to fully use the marina,” Mayor McMillan said. [Read more]
