Roxy Regional Theatre Joins Over 500 Theatre Organizations Across the Nation in The Ghostlight Project

Clarksville, TN – On Thursday, January 19th, the Roxy Regional Theatre joined theatre organizations across the country in The Ghostlight Project. At 5:30pm, theatres across all time zones gathered to join in solidarity through the shared commitment to greater inclusion, participation and compassion in our theatres and our communities.
The inspiration for the project was the theatrical tradition of turning on a “ghostlight” at the end of the night when the theatres go dark, offering visibility and safety for all who might enter.

Clarksville, TN – Funny, outrageous, emotionally affecting and occasionally angry … Eve Ensler’s wildly popular series of monologues about women and performed by women is back for the fifteenth year with the Roxy Regional Theatre’s presentation of “The Vagina Monologues”, January 13th – January 28th.
Returning favorites Emily Rourke (most recently seen as Molly in Harry Connick, Jr.’s The Happy Elf) and Leigh Martha Klinger (whom audiences may remember as Magenta in The Rocky Horror Show and, most recently, as Gilda in The Happy Elf) will take the stage of the Roxy’s theotherspace in readings of these monologues based on interviews Eve Ensler conducted with 200 women about their views on sex, relationships, and violence against women.

Clarksville, TN – What makes a man a king? And, by the same token, what makes a king a man?
This fall, the Roxy Regional Theatre delves into these questions with the company’s 32nd annual foray into the works attributed to William Shakespeare. An exploration into the nature of leadership and its relationship to morality, “Henry V” opens Friday, November 4th, at 8:00pm, for a limited run.
One of Shakespeare’s most famous history plays and the final in a tetralogy preceded by Richard II, Henry IV, Part 1, and Henry IV, Part 2, the play is based on the life of King Henry V of England and centers around events occurring before and after the battle of Agincourt in 1415, during the Hundred Years War.

Clarksville, TN – The Roxy Regional Theatre is turning up the volume this Friday, April 29th at 8:00pm when CDE Lightband presents Green Day’s “American Idiot!”. In keeping with our traditional opening night pay-what-you-can tradition, all tickets remaining at the box office will go on sale at 7:30pm Friday evening for a $5.00 minimum donation.
Struggling to find meaning in a post-9/11 world, Johnny (Joseph Spinelli), Tunny (Charles Walljasper Robinson) and Will (Ryan Alvarado) flee the constraints of their hometown for the thrills of city life. Their paths are quickly estranged when Tunny enters the armed forces, Will is called back home to attend familial responsibilities, and Johnny’s attention becomes divided between a seductive love interest and a hazardous new friendship.
