Tennessee Gun Country’s Shoot for a Cause Benefits LEAP Youth

Clarksville, TN – Tennessee Gun Country hosted Shoot for a Cause, a charity event for gun owners, and non-owners alike, to learn about firearms and practice on the range. The event was open to the community and held on the gun range with July 25th designated for 100% of the proceeds to be donated to the LEAP Organization.
The donation will enable LEAP to educate their youth participants in gun safety and violence prevention.
Executive Director Richard “Reason” Garrett had concerns regarding the community support for this type of event. “Initially I was concerned about how the community would respond to this kind of event given the recent unfortunate gun related tragedies.
Jazz on the Lawn hosts Toast to Youth Development benefit for LEAP

Clarksville, TN – On Sunday, August 16th Beachaven Winery concert series ‘Jazz on the Lawn’ will feature music by the Back Road Brigade sponsored by the Joe Padula Show on 1400 WJZM. The music starts at 1:00pm and goes until 4:00pm.
The theme for this event is Toasting to Youth Development with 10% of proceeds from wine sells being donated to the LEAP Organization.
LEAP is a 501c3 nonprofit youth development organization that instills positive moral growth and sustainable life skills in youth.
LEAP Organization Takes Group to New York for 5th Annual Education Excursion

Clarksville, TN – New York City was the destination for the LEAP Organization’s 5th Annual Education Excursion. Youth from Clarksville along with chaperones and community members embarked on a four day journey to New York to educate LEAP youth by exposing them to other cities, their cultural differences and historical landmarks.
Places that were visited included the 911 Tribute Center and Memorial Center, Rockefeller Center/Top of the Rock, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Luna Park Coney Island, Madison Square Garden, and Madame Tussauds Celebrity Wax Museum in addition to several museums and sight-seeing cruises.

Block Party held in Lincoln Homes by LEAP and Clarksville Housing Authority

Clarksville, TN – On a crisp October Saturday LEAP organization in collaboration with the Clarksville Housing Authority hosted a Block Party in Lincoln Homes. Laughter could be heard as you approached the block party. It was coming from dozens and dozens of children enjoying free hot dogs, popcorn, and ice cream as well as playing games, jumping in the inflatables provided by A Jump’n Good Time, and live music from DJ Greedy.
LEAP Site Lead Dorlisha White spearheaded the event with the help of Martha Witherspoon of the Housing Authority.
LEAP to hold 5th Annual Dance Competition October 25th

Clarksville, TN – LEAP organization is planning their 5th annual Step and Dance Crew Challenge on Saturday, October 25th, 2014 at West Creek High School. The event will take place between 3:00pm and 6:00pm. with admission only five dollars, children under seven are free.
Proceeds will be used to benefit youth performing arts and allow more participants to attend youth enrichment programs.
The event will showcase the talents of many of Clarksville middle and high school students in step and dance routines.
Nashville Predators Foundation awards funding to LEAP

Nashville, TN – On May 7th, 2014 the LEAP Organization was selected to receive a grant award from the Nashville Predators Foundation. This year marked the Predators biggest grant program in franchise history with over $410,000 in grants were awarded to Middle Tennessee non profit organizations at Bridgestone Arena.
“We are very appreciative of the Predators Foundation selecting us for funding to enhance our youth development program” commented board member Larson Gafney.

LEAP Charity Fashion Show Gala a huge success with local youth

Youth Gain Self Esteem Through Fashion Show Gala
Clarksville, TN – Tuesday, January 25th, 2014 marked the 1st Annual LEAP Charity Fashion Show Gala at the Emmanuel Family Life Center.
Youth modeled the fashions of local designers such as ELO, Molerevon, Sacer & Savive, Heaven Sent Bowtique, Filthy Rich Celebrity Jewelry, and E & S Fashions with Gem’s Hair Salon and Eyetunes donating their time to provide participants with hair and makeup makeovers. While some students modeled, other students prepared the food and served guests.

Clarksville, TN – On January 25th, 2014 at 4:00pm the Leap Organization will be hosting a Charity Fashion Show Gala at the Emmanuel Family Life Center located at 303 Fairview Lane. In addition to youth modeling locally designed attire and formal wear, elected officials, pastors, and community leaders will also rip the runway.
There will be a catered meal served by youth for guests along with a silent auction featuring baskets containing gift cards, perfumes, sporting goods/memorabilia, vacations, and much more.
