Clarksville-Montgomery County School SystemClarksville, TN – The Fifth Annual Pass and Go event, a reward celebration for Clarksville-Montgomery County School System Advanced Placement students who score a 3, 4 or 5 on their exam, is set for this Saturday, July 27th.

Wyatt Johnson is offering the winning student his or her choice of three different cars. Katherine Johnson Cannata, Syd Johnson and Bill Powers stand next to the three options a Toyota Yaris, a Mazda 2 or a Hyundai Accent.

City of Clarksville launches new Website Design

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan is introducing a new website design for the City. The new design is available today, August 1st, 2012 and offers significant changes to the City’s website look and increased usability.

“We’ve been working on the redesign for about 6 months and I’m very excited about the changes. It looks entirely different and we’ve added some tools to make it easier to locate information quickly. My goal since taking office has been to increase transparency in government and to provide information that citizens want and need to be a part of their government. The website redesign is the next step in this effort,” said Mayor McMillan.

Local Physicians Continue Supporting Pass and Go Program

The Clarksville-Montgomery County School SystemMontgomery County, TN – Premier Medical Group Physicians of Clarksville are continuing their support for Clarksville-Montgomery County School System’s advance placement students as a part of the Wyatt Johnson Pass and Go program.

Veteran education professor to speak about online reading in Provost Lecture Series

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – With the technological advent of e-books, e-readers and other digital innovations, reading material has moved from print media to online. And the process of reading on a computer screen can be different – an aspect that a veteran Austin Peay State University professor will address.

Dr. Donald Luck, a professor of education who has taught at APSU for 18 years, will present the next session in the weekly Provost Lecture Series at 3:00pm, Thursday, September 15th in the Morgan University Center, Room 307. The title of his presentation is “Reading in the Web Environment.”

High School Student to Win a Car

12 others to win laptops just for trying harder in school.

The Clarksville-Montgomery County School SystemToday at 4:30pm more than 200 Clarksville-Montgomery County High School students will get some reinforcement that hard work does pay off.

These students are among the 40 percent of those who took and passed their Advanced Placement exams and earned the privilege of participating in the second annual Joe Heitz Toyota Pass and Go event. One of those students’ names will be drawn to win a 2010 Toyota Yaris.

Twelve of the students will win laptops, donated by Premier Medical Group and all of them will walk away with USB jump drives. Additionally, random drawings will take place for $25.00 gas cards donated by Beach Oil Company. [Read more]
