Humane Society of Clarksville Montgomery County to host Kitten Adoption Day Sunday

June 21, 2012

Humane Society of Clarksville – Montgomery County (HSCMC)Clarksville, TN – On Sunday, June 24th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, the Humane Society of Clarksville Montgomery County will hold a Kitten Adoption Day.

The photos shown below look like they could have been pulled out of a professionally designed calendar, but every kitty you see is available for adoption through the Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County.

As the kittens get older, it gets tougher and tougher to find them homes. During this time of year, the phones at local area shelters ring off the walls with individuals needing help placing litters of kittens (and spaying mama cats to prevent future litters).

The Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County to hold Open House for Kitten Adoptions

January 13, 2012

Humane Society of Clarksville – Montgomery County (HSCMC)Clarksville, TN – The Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County will be holding an open house on Saturday from 10:30am till 2:00pm to find loving home for 14 adorable kittens.

Two pregnant cats were rescued by long-time HSCMC volunteer and local cat “guru” Elaine Weil, and as nature would have it, they gave birth to the 14 kittens.

The kittens have been raised to be outgoing and easy to handle. The Humane Society is afraid that the kittens may be overlooked because they aren’t tiny babies, they are about 5 months old, which is honestly a PURR-fect age! They deserve loving homes where they can get lots of individual attention.

Thumbs Up for a Special Feline Family!

May 22, 2011

Humane Society of Clarksville – Montgomery County (HSCMC)Clarksville, TN – Will extra toes guarantee forever homes for members of this rescued kitty family? We hope so! The extra toe is a spontaneous genetic mutation called polydactylism. Ernest Hemingway, renowned American novelist, was known for keeping polydactyl cats at his home In Key West, Florida. Even today, ancestors of his pets stroll through the grounds of his home, now a tourist attraction. There is a foundation that cares for the cats and manages their numbers through selective spaying and neutering to ensure the continuity of this colony.
