Clarksville Montgomery County Public Library to hold Imagination Library “Hats Off to Reading” with First Lady Crissy Haslam

Clarksville, TN – Tennessee’s First Lady Crissy Haslam will be among the celebrity readers at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library Thursday, June 25th for a child-centered event to highlight the Montgomery County Imagination Library.
Other guest readers include Channel 4 Chief Meteorologist Lisa Spencer, Kirby Cannon, APSU Head Football Coach, Gnash, the Predator’s Mascot, Snowbird, and the Tender Paws therapy dogs.

Clarksville, TN – Channel 4 Chief Meteorologist Lisa Spencer will be among the celebrity readers at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library Wednesday, June 25th for a child-centered event to highlight the Montgomery County Imagination Library.
Other guest readers include GNASH, the Nashville Predators mascot, Kirby Cannon, APSU Head Football Coach, along with the APSU Governor’s mascot and the Tender Paws therapy dogs.
The fun will begin at 10:00 that morning in the atrium of the library.
Rain can’t drown out the 2014 APSU Governor’s Bass Tournament

Paris Landing, TN – On Saturday, in spite of storming weather, several hundred fishermen in 227 boats gathered at the Paris Landing State Park Marina for the 20th Annual Austin Peay State University Governor’s Bass Tournament.
Last season’s tourney drew 282 boats—14 more than in 2012, despite entrants being forced to utilize the back entrance because of flooding. This year’s turnout was likely suppressed by the weather which resulted in a slightly lower turnout.

Brian Cook and Calvin Cothron, of Springfield, Tennessee were declared the winners of the 20th Annual Governors Bass Tournament with a 24.71 pound stringer of bass.
APSU 2013: A Year in Review

Clarksville, TN – When future generations look back on the history of Austin Peay State University, the year 2013 will likely be remembered as a pivotal time in the University’s development.
In the last 12 months, the campus has changed tremendously, both in terms of its layout and its notoriety. New, state-of-the-art buildings are welcoming new students, and even the President of the United States is talking about APSU.
As the University community looks ahead to another big year, here are some of the top stories that defined Austin Peay in 2013.
