Clarksville’s Liberty Park opened Friday

Liberty Park - Clarksville MarinaClarksville, TN – Liberty Park opened yesterday morning at dawn and Clarksvillians were ready and waiting for the opening of the park areas of the new Clarksville Marina.

Fishermen were the first on hand. They had been eying the pond for months looking forward for the chance to be one of the first anglers to try their luck there. By 10:00am around 20 anglers had staked out their positions around the banks.

Clarksville Police Department adds Six New Officers today

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is happy to welcome six new officers to their ranks today. Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan administered the Oath of Office to the Police Department’s newest additions.

They will attend the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy from May 27th – August 3rd, 2012.

Liberty Park Opens to the Public May 18th

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – On Friday, May 18th, 2012, most of Liberty Park will be open for public use.

“We are thrilled that the day is here when we can allow the public to use most of these incredible facilities. The boat ramps have seen significant use already as has the marina basin. Now, more of the park will be available for fishing, walking, picnicking and all kinds of outdoor fun,” said Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan.

City of Clarksville brings free 90 minute parking to Downtown Clarksville

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Beginning on May 1st, 2012 and running through the end of June 2012, the City of Clarksville will offer free parking for 90 minutes on some downtown streets.

“The developer, Cumberland River, LLC, began mobilizing the slips this week with the first shipment arriving today. As we’ve previously discussed, they are being assembled off-site and are then brought in for installation. The installation process is now underway. The Latest Trail In The Discover Tennessee Trails & Byways Program

Screaming Eagle TrailClarksville, TN The Tennessee Department of Tourist Development officially launched the Screaming Eagle Trail at a special event Friday, April 20th held at the Rivers and Spires Festival in Clarksville, Tennessee. The 13th of 16 self-guided driving tours in the Discover Tennessee Trails & Byways program, The Screaming Eagle travels 353 miles from Nashville throughout other cities in Middle Tennessee.

The Screaming Eagle Trail is the result of a partnership between multiple state agencies and city and county officials. The end result is a trail made up of sites and attractions in Benton, Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Houston, Humphreys, Montgomery and Stewart counties that travels through Middle Tennessee’s history, landscape, music and cuisine.
