Montgomery County, TN – Mainstream Heating & Cooling, known for having 100 percent of its comfort care technicians NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certified, is now Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certified.
A Green Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held on Monday, December 17th, to celebrate their successful initiatives and completion of the program.

APSU Student Newspaper The All State celebrates National Award, Best in Show distinction

Clarksville, TN – For the first time in the 80-plus-year history of The All State, the student newspaper of Austin Peay State University, a staff member was named among the best nationally at the annual Associated Collegiate Press conference held recently in Chicago.
Christy Walker, editorial cartoonist for The All State, was given a second-place individual award for her cartoon depicting Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan with religious items that accompanied an editorial about her private meetings with local religious officials. [Read more]
The Nutcracker to be performed at the Austin Peay University Clement Auditorium December 8th

Clarksville Mayor McMillan receives Hank Thompson Award

Clarksville, TN – At the recent Greater Nashville Regional Council meeting, Mayor Kim McMillan was presented with The Hank Thompson Award.
The award was created in honor of R. J. “Hank” Thompson (former Sumner County Executive, Hendersonville Mayor and two-time Greater Nashville Regional Council President) and is presented to an outstanding individual in the region to recognize personal and political integrity.

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville kicked off the 14th Annual Christmas on the Cumberland on Tuesday, which continues until January 1st. The annual free holiday display features over 1,000,000 individual Lights in a amazing Christmas display that spans the entire length of McGregor Park in Downtown Clarksville.
This has become one of the most popular events held on the banks of the Cumberland River in Historic Downtown Clarksville, second only to the Riverfest Celebration held in September. It draws thousands of people per day down to the banks of the Cumberland River to enjoy the Christmas lights with family and friends.

Clarksville City Department Chili Cook-Off starts today at 11:00am

Clarksville, TN – On Friday October 26th, 2012, a Department-wide Chili Cook-off will be hosted by the City of Clarksville. The event will benefit the United Way.
City of Clarksville Departments will compete for “Best Chili,” “Best Side,” Best Dessert,” and “Best Showmanship” trophies. The event will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm in the lower parking lot of City Hall. [Read more]
Liberty Park Grand Opening this afternoon

Clarksville, TN – Tuesday afternoon, October 23rd, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan will cut the ribbon marking the official grand opening of Liberty Park.
Activities will begin at 3:30pm and will conclude at 7:30pm. There will be face painting, a balloon artist, a display of some of the City’s fire and police vehicles, archery, performances by a local dance group and an exhibition by the Clarksville Police Department’s K-9 Unit.
