Austin Peay State University Provost Lecture Series discusses students’ critical thinking skills in writing

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – The effects of an intended audience on students’ critical thinking skills in writing assignments will be the topic of the next Provost Lecture Series at Austin Peay State University.

Dr. Gray Kane, faculty development analyst in APSU’s Center for Teaching and Learning, will present “Intended Audience and Critical Thinking Skills” at 3:00pm, Thursday, September 27th in the Morgan University Center, Room 303.

APSU Provost Lecture Series kicks off with session about Religion in Disaster Relief

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – An Austin Peay State University social work faculty member will explore the role of spirituality in natural disaster relief as the first session of the University’s Provost Lecture Series for 2012-13.

Dr. Tatsushi Hirono, assistant professor of social work, will present “The Role of Religious Leaders in Natural Disaster Relief: A Comparative Analysis Between the Clergy of American Christian Churches and Japanese Buddhist Temples” at 3:00pm, Thursday, September 20th in the Morgan University Center, Room 303.

APSU History Honor Society publishes second issue of scholarly journal

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – On Tuesday morning, members of Austin Peay State University’s Phi Alpha Theta (PAT) history honor society crowded into APSU President Tim Hall’s office to present him with a small, red booklet.

After flipping through a few pages, Hall looked around at the history students and faculty members surrounding him and said, “Congratulations to you all. This is fantastic. We’re so proud of what you’re doing.”
