Clarksville Montgomery County School System (CMCSS)Montgomery County, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County School System announces that Amber Hartzler, a first grade teacher at Pisgah Elementary School, was one of 20 Tennessee educators recently designated as a National Board Certified Teacher.

Each of these accomplished educators earned the profession’s highest mark of achievement through a rigorous, performance-based, peer-review process, demonstrating their proven impact on student learning and achievement.

Montgomery Central Elementary Nationally Recognized for Academic Achievement in 2017

Clarksville Montgomery County School System (CMCSS)Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery Central Elementary is one of 63 U.S. schools to have been named a 2017 National Title I Distinguished School. Schools are selected either for exceptional student performance overall, for significantly closing the achievement gap between student groups, or for excellence in serving special populations of students. Montgomery Central was selected for excellence in serving special populations of students.

Montgomery Central High School and Elementary School are Points of Pride

Clarksville Montgomery County School System (CMCSS)Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery Central High School counselor Bethany Erb was named Tennessee High School Counselor of the Year by the Tennessee School Counseling Association.

Montgomery Central Elementary School has been selected as one of two Tennessee schools named to the National Title I Distinguished School Program.

APSU announces Candlelight Ball Award winners

Austin Peay State University - APSU - logoClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Office of Alumni Relations has announced the recipients of the 2016 Candlelight Ball Awards. The Wendell H. Gilbert Award will go to Jack B. Turner (’67), president of Jack B. Turner and Associates, and the Spirit of Austin Peay Award will go to Josh Baggett (’05), district engineering technician with Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation.

Smith Lauded for Volunteer Effort

Tennessee School Boards AssociationNashville, TN – The Tennessee School Boards Association has selected David B. Smith as its 2011 Volunteer for his leadership and work in the CMCSS 100% Graduation is Clarksville’s Business project.

Launched in 2008, the 100% Graduation Project Team has had Smith’s leadership and involvement from the start.

Board of Education earns TSBA Board of Distinction honor

The Clarksville-Montgomery County School SystemClarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Board of Education is being honored by the Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA) for its efforts to effectively govern public schools for more than 28,000 students.

TSBA will present its prestigious Board of Distinction Award, which recognizes outstanding performance by the entire school board, at a public board meeting to highlight the accomplishments of Clarksville-Montgomery County’s elected education leaders. The award will be presented by Gracie Porter, Davidson County Chairman and Mid-Cumberland District Director at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Board of Education meeting in August. [Read more]

The Clarksville-Montgomery County School SystemClarksville, TN – Giving Clarksville-Montgomery County School System students real-world knowledge and hands-on experience has been made possible by this month’s Board of Education Point of Pride recipient, the Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union.

CMCSS’s Career Technical Education (CTE) has worked closely with FCFCU president and CEO Stewart Ramsey, vice president of retail operations Melody Swindall and executive vice president Maria McKee to plan and implement the student credit unions at Northeast High School and Rossview High School.
