City of Clarksville Population Estimates Climb Toward 150,000

Clarksville, TN – Estimates released yesterday from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey show Clarksville’s population at 149,120. Just shy of the 150,000 mark, this growth reflects an 11.6% increase over the past five years.
In the same report, Montgomery County population is growing quickly toward a population of 200,000, with a 2015 estimate of 193,479, which is also up 11.6% from 2010. The number of households in the county increased to 70,494, up 7.7% over 2014.
Pillar of Hope Exhibit

Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Government will once again display the Pillars of Hope exhibit at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the September 11th, 2001 events.
This collection of hand painted ceramic tiles was designed to be mini-memorials honoring the heroes of 9/11.
Clarksville 9/11 ceremony to be held this Sunday

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Fire Rescue will present its annual community wide 9/11 Ceremony at 6:00pm Sunday, September 11th at the city’s main fire station, 802 Main Street. The public is invited.
The ceremony honors the commitment and ultimate sacrifice of hundreds of New York City Firefighters who selflessly responded after the World Trade Center’s twin towers were attacked by terrorists on September 11th, 2001.

Google’s Enoch Moeller Set to Keynote Clarksville Growth Summit August 25th

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Council (EDC) will host its fifth annual growth summit on Thursday, August 25th at the Riverview Inn.
This half-day public event and will feature recognized leaders in economic development who will address topics such as global and local economies, strategic planning for the future, technology, entrepreneurialism and what drives business decisions.
Clarksville Rotary Club donates Rotary Trail Signage

Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Parks and Recreation has recently completed installing new trail signage at Rotary Park. The signage was made possible through a $4,500 donation from the Clarksville Rotary Club.
The 20 signs were designed and placed by the Friends of Rotary group along each of the trails to better define the areas.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Industrial Development Board Receives $212,000 from State for Business Park Development

Clarksville, TN – State of Tennessee Economic and Community Development (ECD) Commissioner Randy Boyd visited Clarksville Tuesday morning, June 28th to present the Clarksville-Montgomery County Industrial Development Board (IDB) a check for a little more than $212,000.
The site development grant was awarded to select communities across Tennessee to prepare economic development sites for market.

Hilltop Super Market’s Dwayne Byard Memorial BBQ Cook Off was held Saturday, May 7th

Clarksville, TN – Saturday, May 7th, was a great day for the Dwayne Byard Memorial BBQ Cook Off held at Hilltop Super Market. It was warm with a cool wind. Great weather for the event.
The smell of rich, sweet smoke was in the air. The aroma of grilling meat set your mouth to watering.
The cook off was held in honor of Dwayne Byard who past away last year. Proceeds from the event are going towards a scholarship fund for Dwayne’s grandchildren.
