Yesterday at Clarksville’s Rivers and Spires Festival was Outstanding!

April 26, 2014

Clarksville, TN – The second day of the Rivers and Spires Festival was without a doubt better than the first! Things officially kicked off around 5:00pm though many people started arriving much earlier. I got there around 4:00pn and the streets were already crowded. As the evening wore on, the streets got fuller and fuller, showing that Clarksvillians were turning out in droves for second day of three-day festival.

“I think it’s things are going great!,” said Cal Wray, the Executive Director of the Clarksville-Montgomery County economic development Council. This marks his first Rivers and Spires Festival since taking the position in February. “It’s a great crowd, and all of the logistics seem to be going very well from the Convention and Visitors Bureau side as well,” he said. “The Festival is a lot of fun. We have some great vendors, some great acts, and so hopefully everyone will have a good time at the Festival tonight and tomorrow!”

The Rivers and Spires 2012 Festival Continues Today!

April 20, 2012

Rivers and Spires Festiveal 2012 - 10 yearsClarksville, TN – It’s hard to believe another year has passed and we are ready up for the 10th annual Rivers and Spires Festival, April 19th-21st. As usual there will be tons of free concerts, entertainment and activities. But, because it is our birthday, and we think a big one, the Festival has a few surprises up its sleeve, but you’ll have to come out and see!

If you’ve never been to the Rivers & Spires Festival or are new to town, put it on your calendar and get ready to have a great time. Lined with craft and food vendors, six music stages, kids’ activities and artisan booths, Historic Downtown transforms each year as the festival goes into full swing. Music is a big part of the event, with at least two artists on one of the many stages at any given time. But it doesn’t stop at just music. There is art, crafts, a children’s parade, food, drinks and fun to be found on every corner. [Read more]

APSU makes campus, public aware of road projects

August 22, 2011

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – As Austin Peay State University prepares for the start of the 2011-12 academic year, the campus community and the public should be aware of the various city and campus construction projects to plan alternate routes to and from campus.

Near APSU, the intersection of North Second and College streets is closed while the Tennessee Department of Transportation continues sewer repairs. This is scheduled to last six to eight weeks. If driving to campus from Wilma Rudolph Boulevard, College Street can be accessed up to Fourth Street and Home Avenue.
