Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence is closing for the season

Indoor Aquatic Center - New ProvidenceClarksville, TN – The Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, closed Tuesday, May 10th for the season. The New Providence outdoor swimming pool will open May 28th along with the other City pools. The Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence will re-open at the end of the summer season.

Be on the look-out for the 2011-12 Indoor Aquatics Program guide at that time.

Clarksville Senior Olympics start May 4th

Clarksville Senior Olymipics 2011Clarksville, TN –Senior adults ages 50 and up can register now until May 2nd for the 2011 Clarksville Senior Olympics. This year’s events will be May 4th-7th at various locations around Clarksville, including The Swan Lake Sports Complex and Golf Course, Kleeman Community Center, The Pinnacle Bowling Center, and Burt-Cobb Community Center.

Seniors will face off for bragging rights, as well as medals in more than 20 challenging events, which include shuffleboard, tennis, track, golf, bowling, basketball free throw, pickle ball and billiards. Because we now have the Indoor Aquatic Center, swimming events have been added. [Read more]

Indoor Aquatic Center Grand Opening

January 31, 2011

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department held the Grand Opening of the new Indoor Aquatic Center on January 29th, 2011 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan was there for the ribbon cutting. There were prizes given away, a Polar Bear Splash as well as tours to learn about the new programs available there. One lucky winner took home a FREE pool membership for the entire winter season.

Free Pool Membership to be Given Away at the Indoor Aquatic Center Grand Opening

Clarksville, TN – The New Providence Pool, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, has a new look and new name. After weeks of work and just hours of inflation, the pool is now sheltered with a bubble like dome which will allow for year-round use of the Indoor Aquatic Center.

The “Dive in the Dome” grand opening is still scheduled for tomorrow, January 29th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm but due to snow and frigid temperatures, the inflation of the dome was delayed from its schedule this week and visitors looking to take a swim will experience much cooler water temperatures than expected.
