APSU’s Phi Kappa Phi honor society receives literacy grant

Clarksville, TN – The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) — the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines — recently awarded a $2,500 literacy grant to Chapter 191 at Austin Peay State University (APSU).

Clarksville, TN – The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi (PKP)—the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines—recently presented John Blake, Austin Peay State University associate professor of engineering technology, with a 2014 Literacy Grant. Blake, president of APSU’s PKP chapter, is one of 14 recipients nationwide to receive the award.

Clarksville, TN – As you shop for groceries, Halloween goodies and other items, remember to pick up a new book or two to donate to the annual Candy for the Mind project at Austin Peay State University.
For the 10th consecutive Halloween, the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) at APSU is collecting new and gently used children’s books for its Candy for the Mind project. Members of the campus and local community are invited to support this effort through donations of books or funds for the purchase of books.

Clarksville, TN – At 12:15pm on February 15th, trumpets will sound across the Austin Peay State University campus. The fanfare will be followed by professors and pages, dressed in academic regalia, addressing unsuspecting students in almost all of the University’s buildings.
This, a few high-achieving individuals will soon learn, is the “Big Reveal” – an event that publicly announces the newest student nominees being considered for membership into the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society. [Read more]
APSU PKP chapter collecting books for Candy for the Mind

Clarksville, TN – For the ninth consecutive Halloween, the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) at Austin Peay State University is collecting new and gently used children’s books for its Candy for the Mind project. Members of the campus and local community are invited to support this effort through donations of books or funds for the purchase of books.
Through this project, PKP distributed more than 1,500 books to community children during last year’s G.H.O.S.T. (Great Halloween Options for Safe Trick-or-Treating), the on-campus alternative for safe trick-or-treating. [Read more]
