Kenneth Maddox to serve as interim director of Austin Peay Wilbur N. Daniel African American Cultural Center

Clarksville, TN – Kenneth Maddox has come “back home” to APSU for the spring 2016 semester to serve as the interim director of the Wilbur N. Daniel African American Cultural Center.
Maddox, a two time alumni of the University, agreed to serve in this capacity after the former director, Henderson Hill III, accepted a new position at the University of Toledo.

Austin Peay State University Breast Cancer Awareness 5K raises $3,375 to American Cancer Society

Clarksville, TN – On an early Saturday morning April 13th, more than 200 runners joined forces to race in the Breast Cancer Awareness 5K race organized by a number of offices at Austin Peay State University.
Some of them walked away with top finisher awards, but all of them played a part in raising $3,375 to the American Cancer Society.

APSU African American Cultural Center seeking funds for Scholarships and grad ceremony

Clarksville, TN – Several years ago, a group of Austin Peay State University graduates endowed the African American Alumni Scholarship fund to provide African-American students with the opportunity to earn a college education.
After a successful initial investment, financial support for the scholarship slowly dried up. In the last few years, it has sat dormant, unable to provide assistance for deserving students. [Read more]
