Companies near and far have interest in APSU Chemical Engineering Technology Graduates

Clarksville, TN – A map of the United States hangs in an upstairs hallway of Austin Peay State University’s Hemlock Semiconductor Building (HSC) with a sign above it that reads, “Where are they now?” The map is covered with arrows pointing to the companies nationwide where graduates of the University’s four-year-old Chemical Engineering Technology Program (ChET) now work.
“As you can see, it is concentrated around middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky,” Dr. Chester Little, director of the APSU ChET program, said. “I have one there in Topeka, KS, and one in Los Angeles. One in Ohio.”

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, at 2:00pm, the Roxy Regional Theatre is presenting the last showing of Schoolhouse Rock Live! A live action musical that brings the entertaining and educational cartoons from Saturday Morning TV that we fell in love with as children back to life so that our own children can fall in love with them as well.
Whenever you can touch someone’s childhood memories in theatrical production, you are sure to have a hit on your hands; and this is the case with this wonderful Roxy production. Kids and their parents will fall in love with the fast paced musical numbers in this show.

Construction Workforce Tops 1,600 at Hemlock Semiconductor Site in Clarksville Tennessee

Administration Building Nearly Complete as Manufacturing Campus Takes Shape
Clarksville, TN – More than 1,600 construction workers are currently active at Hemlock Semiconductor Group’s Clarksville, TN site as construction of the administration building nears completion. Warehouse, maintenance buildings, and other support facilities will be finished later this year and production facilities will be complete in 2012.
The $1.2 billion plant is scheduled to begin producing polysilicon, the cornerstone material for solar cells, in late 2012. The Clarksville Hemlock Semiconductor facility will meet the needs of the growing solar industry. [Read more]
