Clarksville Mayor McMillan to attend Institute of Politics Program

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan will attend a program presented by Harvard University’s Institute of Politics. The seminar, which is offered by invitation only, focuses on training newly elected mayors and takes place every two years. All expenses for the seminar are paid by the Institute.

“I’m very honored to be invited to this seminar and look forward to hearing from some of the most respected leaders in public policy and leadership. Essayist Ashley Butler to give nonfiction reading at APSU on November 7th

Clarksville, TN – In her new collection of essays, “Dear Sound of Footstep,” author Ashley Butler tackles such strange subjects as the fastest man on earth and the bizarre, echo-free chamber at Harvard University. But if you were to ask someone who read this compelling work what it was about, they might give simple one-word answers, such as “mortality” or “existence.”

More specifically, the essays in this book use their subjects to explore the death of Butler’s mother from cancer, and the author’s estranged relationship with her father.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., 2011 Unity speaker February 9th at APSU

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – His reputation as a resolute defender of the environment that stems from a litany of successful legal actions, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will be the special guest speaker for the annual Unity Celebration at Austin Peay State University.

Kennedy will speak at 7:00pm, Wednesday, February 9th in the Memorial Health Gym (Red Barn) on APSU’s main campus as part of the annual Student Affairs Unity Celebration. The event is free and open to the public. [Read more]
