College of STEM awards research grants to five Austin Peay graduate students

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University College (APSU) of STEM recently awarded $500.00-$1,000 research grants to five graduate biology students. The research projects span from studying coal mining’s effects on a local fish to examining the history of the prairies of Middle Tennessee.

National Sports Services confirms interest in Clarksville

National firm says Exit 8 site ‘Ideal for Sports Complex’
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan’s plan to add a family Athletic Complex to Clarksville’s sports scene got a boost this week from National Sports Services, a company involved in minor league sports teams and sports facility development.
“I want to confirm our company’s interest in bringing a baseball franchise to Clarksville,” Matt Perry, National Sports Services president, wrote in a recent letter to Mayor McMillan.
All Pro Freight Stadium, in Avon, Ohio, a 5,000 seat multi-purpose baseball stadium which opened in June of 2009, is the home of the Lake Erie Crushers, a member of the Frontier League. National Sports Services represented the Crushers during lease negotiations, stadium development, and tenant/landlord relations.

Clarksville, TN – The next meeting of the Clarksville (TN) Civil War Roundtable will be on Wednesday, October 21st, 2015 at the Bone & Joint Center, 980 Professional Park Drive, right across the street from Gateway Hospital. This is just off Dunlop Lane and Holiday Drive and only a few minutes east of Governor’s Square mall.
The meeting begins at 7:00pm and is always open to the public. Members please bring a friend or two – new recruits are always welcomed.
