Austin Peay State University hosting CSM Darol Walker Award Ceremony on April 28th

Clarksville, TN – Colonel Rob Salome, garrison commander at Fort Campbell, will visit Austin Peay State University at 8:00am on April 28th to help recognize an outstanding APSU ROTC cadet during the annual CSM Darol Walker Award Ceremony and Breakfast.
Jack B. Turner established the award several years ago in honor of Darol Walker, retired vice president of Jack B. Turner and Associates Inc. in Clarksville and retired command sergeant major in the U.S. Army.
Lowe’s to teach building skills to local volunteers for Habitat for Humanity’s 2016 Women Build

Clarksville, TN – Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County Tennessee (HFHMCTN) and longtime national partner Lowe’s are hosting “how to” construction clinics for women volunteering during our Women Build 2016 project.
Taking place each year, the national Habitat for Humanity Women Build program encourages women across the country to devote at least one day to building simple, decent and affordable housing with Habitat in their local communities.

Montgomery County, TN – Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County and the Habitat ReStore are the latest organizations to become Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certified.
Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers, City of Clarksville’s Chief of Staff Bill Harpel, Habitat for Humanity Board Members and CMC Green Certification Steering Committee Board Members were on hand with Habitat and ReStore employees for their green ribbon cutting held on July 10th.
Austin Peay State University presents Walker Award to Cadet Nathan Brewer

Clarksville, TN – The recipient of the 2013 Command Sgt. Maj. Darol Walker Award at Austin Peay State University is one of the nation’s top ROTC cadets.
Cadet Nathan Brewer with APSU’s Governors Guard Battalion of the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) was presented the award during a breakfast ceremony held Thursday, May 2nd at APSU. He already has prior military service, having been assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group and 82nd Airborne Division.
