Documentaries Exploring Clarksville’s Past, Present, and Future to be shown at Roxy Regional Theatre

Clarksville Arts and Heritage Development CouncilClarksville, TN – The Clarksville/Montgomery County Arts and Heritage Development Council and Roxy Regional Theatre will present during the month of September a series of six videos exploring people and events from Clarksville’s past, present and future.

The series will take place in the Roxy theatre on Sundays and Tuesdays and was made possible by a placemaking grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission. The showings are free and open to the public.

The videos run about 30 minutes and community members are encouraged to join in the discussion afterward exploring Clarksville’s unique character and how to maintain and enhance a strong sense of place in its citizens.

Documentary on the 1863-1890 diary of Clarksvillian Nannie Haskins Williams will be held Sunday, September 4th.

APSU Percussion Ensemble Performs Free Spring Concert on March 31st

The APSU Music DepartmentClarksville, TN – Anyone familiar with Austin Peay State University music professor David Steinquest’s annual Percussion Ensemble Halloween Concerts, with their strange mixture of music and mayhem, won’t be surprised to learn that even the traditional spring performances he organizes are marked by a wild originality.

Audience members attending the free percussion ensemble concert at 7:30pm on March 31st in the Music/Mass Communication Building’s Concert Hall will be treated to everything from sisters playing part of the score to “Schindler’s List” to an orchestra performing the Pizzicato Polka using only plastic tubes known as boom-wackers.
