APSU Master of Science in Management program ranks among nation’s best

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University College of Business M.S. in management program is #32 in the country, according to The Financial Engineer’s 2015 Master of Management Rankings. APSU’s program was ranked among the top 63 graduate management programs in the United States.

APSU’s program was the highest ranked in the state of Tennessee. This is the first time The Financial Engineer has released a ranking of master of management programs. [Read more]

Austin Peay State University “Bridge Over College Street” project explores relationship between APSU, City of Clarksville

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Students at Austin Peay State University are putting the final touches on a project that explores the relationship between the University and the city in which it calls home.

Titled “Bridge Across College Street,” the project will feature artwork from APSU students exploring the University’s relationship with the City of Clarksville through interviews with members of both communities. From 10:00am-3:00pm Tuesday, members of APSU’s President’s Emerging Leaders Program (PELP) will be displaying their work on College Street near the APSU campus. [Read more]

APSU promises scholarships to all of state’s high-achieving community college grads

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Beginning this fall, Austin Peay State University will guarantee scholarships to all Tennessee Board of Regents community college and Hopkinsville Community College graduates who have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Titled the APSU Promise, the new scholarship program aims to bring more high-caliber students to campus in the coming years.

Chris Burawa, director of the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts, has had several professional developments. He translated from Icelandic a short story by Óskar Magnússon, “Dr. Amplatz,” which will be published in Best European Fiction 2014 by Dalkey Archive Press. [Read more]

Governors Square MallClarksville, TN – Governor’s Square Mall is looking for approximately 20 high school students interested in participating in the 2013-2014 Fashion Advisory Board (FAB).

The Fashion Advisory Board is made up of high school students who have a passion for fashion, retail and marketing. The program is open to any current high school students with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

As a member of the Fashion Advisory Board students will represent Governor’s Square Mall in an ambassador-like position. [Read more]

APSU Sports: APSU Hall of Fame

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Jay Bailey, an All-American running back who owns the school single-season rushing record; Ashley Haynes, the versatile forward who scored 1,000 points and grabbed 1,000 rebounds in her illustrious career, and Cheryl Holt, who led Austin Peay volleyball to 19 straight Ohio Valley Conference tournament appearances, including the 1991 tourney title, will be inducted into the University’s Athletics Hall of Fame, Saturday.

The 9:00am, induction ceremonies in the Dunn Center’s front lobby will see the APSU Athletic Hall of Fame grow to 107. The newest inductees and their families also will be honored during halftime ceremonies of APSU men’s basketball home contest against UT Martin.

New APSU Class Informs Students About Different Health Care Fields

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Every fall, dozens of incoming college freshmen go off to school harboring dreams of becoming medical doctors. Some are drawn to the field because of the paycheck, while others are attracted by the excitement and emotional rewards of the health care field. They leave home with high hopes that, unfortunately, don’t always come to fruition.

“We see it all the time,” Rex Ameigh, chair of the Austin Peay State University Allied Health Sciences Department, said. “Students come in here with the idea that they’re going to be a doctor. Then they get started and the realization comes in of all the things that must occur for that to really happen.” [Read more]

Josh Jerles signs with Rhodes College

The Clarksville AcademyClarksville, TN – Clarksville Academy, a Pre-K through 12th grade private college preparatory school, is pleased to announce the signing of Josh Jerles to Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. Josh has been a student at CA for 13 years and a member of football team since Intermediate School. He is an asset both on and off the field.
