APSU starts off 2011-12 year celebrating milestones, embracing challenges

Clarksville, TN – Plans for two new facilities, along with other developments, are strong reasons to be encouraged in the work environment at Austin Peay State University.
President Tim Hall spoke to faculty and staff during the annual convocation Wednesday, August 24th in the Music/Mass Communication Building Concert Hall.
Among the many exciting recent developments he cited in his address, Hall announced that the State Building Commission recently approved APSU’s request to build a new mathematics and computer science building behind the Hemlock Semiconductor Building.
Business After Hours a success

Clarksville, TN – Despite threatening weather, more than 300 people attended the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours, hosted by Austin Peay athletics and the Governors Club, Thursday night, at APSU’s Pace Alumni Center at Emerald Hill.
Austin Peay President Tim Hall talked about the University’s continued growth and the plan to improve Governors Stadium in addition to encouraging Chamber members to support APSU athletics with their attendance.

Clarksville, TN – With Austin Peay State University’s football season just around the corner, the Athletics Department is now taking 2011 Tailgate Alley registration forms.
The Govs kick off the 2011 season with a pair of road games – September 3rd at Cincinnati and September 17th at Memphis – before the home schedule begins with a September 24th, Ohio Valley Conference game against Eastern Kentucky.

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, May 1st, thousands gathered at Austin Peay Sate University’s Governors Stadium to participate in the 33rd Annual Queen City Road Race. This event is a Clarksville tradition promoting fitness and fun for all ages and features the 5K Relay, 5K Wheelchair/Hand-cycle, 5K and One Mile Movement.

Clarksville, TN – It’s that time of year again to lace up those running shoes and begin preparing for the 33rd Annual Queen City Road Race scheduled for Sunday, May 1st.
The Queen City Road Race event is a Clarksville tradition promoting fitness and fun for all ages. The 5K race route takes runners through the streets of Historic Downtown Clarksville, beginning and ending at Austin Peay State University’s Governors Stadium, while the One Mile Movement takes you on an exciting tour of a portion of the APSU campus. Despite record-breaking rainfall during last year’s race, hundreds of Clarksville-Montgomery County and Fort Campbell school students, teachers and family members participated.
