17th annual Governors Bass Tournament is just two weeks away

APSU Governors Bass TournamentClarksville, TN – The 17th annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament is just two weeks away.

This year’s version will be held Saturday, May 14th, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing, Tennessee, State Park. Last season’s tourney was postponed from May 8th to May 23rd, due to flood conditions that surrounded the area. Despite the two-week delay, the tourney still drew 269 boats.

Despite recent heavy rains, this year’s tourney looks promising. APSU again is hopeful of approaching the 300-boat total—the record of 333 was set in 2009.

Austin Peay State University GovernorsSponsored by the Governors Club, the four-person men and women’s scramble will be limited to 60 teams, 30 per shotgun starts at noon, Friday, and 8:00am, Saturday, at Swan Lake Golf Course.

For a fourth straight year, men and women’s divisions are established. Cost is $400.00 per team, or $100.00 per person. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Austin Peay State University Athletics. [Read more]

For a third straight year, the annual tournament will occur on succeeding days instead of the same day, with shotgun starts for each round.

Sponsored by the Governors Club, the four-person scramble will be limited to 60 teams, 30 per shotgun starts at noon, Friday, Aug. 27th, and 8:00am Saturday, Aug. 28th.

For a fourth straight year, men and women’s divisions also have been established. Cost is $400.00 per team, or $100.00 per person. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Austin Peay State University Athletics. [Read more]

Governors Bass Tourney set for Sunday

The 16th annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament is set for Sunday, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing, TN, State Park.

Postponed May 8th because of flood conditions, this annual event benefits Austin Peay athletics. The tourney will begin 6:00 am, Sunday, although all contestants must be checked in between 4:00 am – 5:30 am, with a mandatory meeting on the water at 5:45 am. Pre-registration entry fee is $100.00 per boat (two people per boat), $110.00 after noon, Friday.

Last season’s tournament drew a record 333 boats, 64 more than the previous mark. [Read more]

The tourney, postponed May 8th because of flood conditions, will be held Sunday, May 23rd, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing, TN, State Park. It was the first time in tourney history that weather caused postponement.
