Clarksville Senior Olympics to kick off May 4th

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Senior adults ages 50 and up can register now until April 29th for the 2011 Clarksville Senior Olympics. This year’s events will be May 4th-7th at various locations around Clarksville, including The Swan Lake Sports Complex and Golf Course, Kleeman Community Center, The Pinnacle Bowling Center, and Burt-Cobb Community Center.

Seniors will face off for bragging rights, as well as medals in more than 20 challenging events, which include shuffleboard, tennis, track, golf, bowling, basketball free throw, pickle ball and billiards. Because we now have the Indoor Aquatic Center, swimming events have been added. [Read more]

Winter Specials On and Off the Golf Course

Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – As winter settles in, the Cole Park Golf Club is offering winter specials both on and off the golf course. It is a great time to shop for that special golfer in your life with a 10% savings on all golf shop merchandise during the month of December. Gift certificates are also available and may be used by the lucky recipient for purchase of merchandise, green fees, cart rental fee, annual fees, and more.

Along with the change in the weather, there will be additional exciting modifications taking place at the Cole Park Golf Club. As of December 8th, only the front nine holes are be open. The closure of the back nine is due to the renovation of all sand bunkers. [Read more]

“Scramble Fore a Cure” to benefit breast cancer research

Breast Cancer RibbonGary Mathews Motors, Inc., will be host their 16th Annual Golf Scramble called, “Scramble Fore A Cure”, September 26th, 8:00am at Swan Lake Golf Course. This year the event is dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Breast Cancer. All proceeds will benefit breast cancer research.

Participants are encouraged to wear pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. Enrollment is limited to the first 24 teams. Four members per team at $50.00 per person. This fee covers one game of golf and golf cart.

The 24th Annual Governors Golf Classic is this weekend

Austin Peay State University GovernorsSponsored by the Governors Club, the four-person men and women’s scramble will be limited to 60 teams, 30 per shotgun starts at noon, Friday, and 8:00am, Saturday, at Swan Lake Golf Course.

For a fourth straight year, men and women’s divisions are established. Cost is $400.00 per team, or $100.00 per person. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Austin Peay State University Athletics. [Read more]
