Customs House Museum Announces Award Winners in the Southern Watercolor Society Juried Exhibition

Clarksville, TN – The Customs House Museum hosted the awards reception for the Southern Watercolor Society’s 38th Annual Juried Exhibition on May 16th. The show features eighty-seven paintings. This year’s juror Kathleen Conover awarded 32 artists cash or merchandise prices.
The Best in Show was awarded to Z.L. Feng for In the Wood. Feng is an artist-signature member of the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society, and the Pastel Society of America (as master pastelist).

Clarksville’s Jostens marks Five Star Food Service’s 400th Micro-Market

Chattanooga, TN – Eight months ago became one of the nation’s first independent vending operators to surpass the 300 micro-market threshold. Last week Five Star celebrated the opening of its 400th micro-market at a Jostens production facility in Clarksville, TN.
The Jostens installation marks the 133rd micro-market Five Star has opened this fiscal year which ends this month.
Oasis Café Earns National Recognition for CMCSS

Montgomery County, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) will be among a small handful of districts nationwide to receive an honorable mention at the National School Boards Association Magna Awards ceremony this week.
CMCSS joined four other districts in Georgia, California, South Carolina and Louisiana in being honored for “taking bold and innovative steps to improve the lives of their students and their communities.”

This is just off Dunlop Lane and Holiday Drive and only a few minutes east of Governor’s Square mall.

Clarksville, TN – On Monday, February 2nd, 2015, owners Matthew Buehrle and Ben Diquattro will be opening Clarksville’s first Marco’s Pizza at 1761 Tiny Town Road. Marco’s is the only national pizza chain founded by a native Italian and takes pride in making fresh ah!thentic italian handmade pizza.
“I saw a need in the Clarksville market for better pizza,” stated Buehrle. “We chose the Exit 1 area because of the growth in this part of town. Also, other pizza places have to drive from Exit 4 and we are here to service them direct.”

Clarksville, TN – Claudia Delgadillo had just worked a late shift at the restaurant, so when her cell phone rang around noon the next day, she almost didn’t answer it. The fact that the cell phone rang at all was a surprise to her because it was about to be disconnected.
The person on the other end of the phone was from Dr. Pepper, and as Delgadillo slowly woke up, she heard them say they were sending her to the Cotton Bowl for a chance to win a $100,000 college scholarship.
