APSU students win Bbest Solo Hack, place second overall at Regional Hackathon

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) senior Susan Kersten recently won “Best Solo Hack” at the CatHacks hackathon at the University of Kentucky, and her teammates won second place overall at the competition for hack that helps teach people sign language.
The wins add to the hackathon success Austin Peay students have had this year.
CMCSS names Marcia Demorest as Chief Financial Officer

Montgomery County, TN – Marcia Demorest, Finance Director for the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, has been named the organization’s Chief Financial Officer effective July 1st. She replaces Danny Grant who retires this year after serving as CFO since 1997.

Clarksville, TN – Robyn Yates is having one heck of a hacking season representing Austin Peay State University (APSU).
At the VolHacks hackathon in September at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, she and her Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) teammates won several top honors, including for the “Pi-Mail” hack she and three other team members worked on.
Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Council announces Cal Wray as New Executive Director

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County, Tennessee Economic Development Council (EDC) Executive Board is excited to announce they have received commitment from Cal Wray, 35, of Dublin, GA, to assume the reins as the Executive Director.
The EDC was established in 1996, and currently promotes economic growth and development of Clarksville-Montgomery County.
Local Fashion Designer at Clarksville’s Customs House Museum

Two APSU Students earn prestigious Goldwater Scholarships

Clarksville, TN – Administrators at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) were probably pretty excited last month when they learned one of their students had earned a highly competitive Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship.
To the south, officials at the University of Tennessee likely experienced a similar rush when they heard one of their students was also named a Goldwater Scholar.

Clarksville, TN – The next meeting of the Clarksville (TN) Civil War Roundtable will be on Wednesday, April 17th, 2013 at the Bone & Joint Center, 980 Professional Park Drive, right across the street from Gateway Medical Center. This is just off Dunlop Lane and Holiday Drive and only a few minutes east of Governor’s Square mall.
The meeting begins at 7:00 pm and is always open to the public. Members please bring a friend or two – new recruits are always welcomed.
