The 20-year banking veteran will manage the overall operations, technology and security at the bank’s corporate headquarters and seven locations in the mid-state, reporting to CFO Jerry Cooksey.

Nashville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System has received a $40,000 grant to pay for STEM Academy and Middle College High School’s students’ fees for dual enrollment in college courses.
The Tennessee College Access and Success Network awarded a total of $412,426 this week to six schools, two higher education institutions and four nonprofits in its third annual grant competition, raising the total amount of Race to the Top funds awarded by the Network to more than $1.6 million. Hopkinsville, KY – HopFed Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: HFBC) (“HopFed”), the parent company of Heritage Bank in Hopkinsville, Kentucky (“Heritage”), today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Sumner Bank & Trust (OTC Pink: SBKT), based in Gallatin, Tennessee (“Sumner”).
HopFed has agreed to pay approximately $14.3 million in cash, or $10.04 per share, to purchase all of the common stock and common stock equivalents of Sumner, including common stock that would be issued upon the conversion of Sumner’s convertible preferred stock upon a change of control (subject to adjustments). APSU’s Student Government Association announces winners of recent Senate election

Clarksville, TN – The Student Government Association at Austin Peay State University announces winners of last week’s Senate election that garnered 930 student votes – APSU’s largest student voter turnout for a fall election and the second largest ever for the SGA.
Freshmen elected as senators in the SGA are Daniel Bunger, of Clarksville; Zachary A. Gillman, of Clarksville; Edward “Trey” Norman, of Clarksville; Mike Rainier, of Adams; and Justin Tahmassebi, of Gallatin.
Graduate students chosen to serve on the SGA Senate were Christopher S. Drew, a former SGA president from Clarksville, and Joseph Chatman III, of Clarksville.
