Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Hershey Track and Field program to begin March 22nd, competition to be held May 12th

Clarksville, TN – Young athletes can showcase their skills in track, long jump and softball throw in the 2012 Hershey Track and Field competition. This program is open to boys and girls ages 9 to 14 in the Clarksville-Montgomery County area.
Hershey Track and Field practices begin March 22nd and will meet every Thursday from 4:30pm to 5:30pm at the Burt-Cobb Community Center, located at 1101 Franklin Street.
First Thursday ArtWalk in Historic Downtown Clarksville March 1st

Clarksville, TN – The Historic Downtown Clarksville Association (DCA), is proud to announce the First Thursday ArtWalk for March, 2012.
This months artwalk will be held on March 1st, 5:00pm until 8:00pm, and as always will be held in the shops and galleries on Public Square, Franklin Street, Strawberry Alley, Main Street and Second Street. Participating merchants include The Framemaker, Ingredients, Rogate’s Boutique, ARTifacts, Hodgepodge, and many more.
As always, this is a free event so bring your family and friends downtown to the Artwalk.

Sure, there’s the small town charm of Franklin Street and the local university, but spread over about 95 square miles, more than 130,000 people call the city home. For a couple of faculty members in the Austin Peay State University music department, that makes Clarksville large enough to need certain cosmopolitan attractions.

Roxy Regional Theatre School of the Arts Acting Classes

Clarksville, TN – The Roxy Regional Theatre School of the Arts has classes for children ages 10 to 18 to learn basic acting techniques, workshop plays, and present a junior production on the mainstage as part of the regular season.
Classes meet every Saturday during the school year from 9:00am until 11:00am. Cost is only $60.00 per month and no pre-registration is required. [Read more]
Clarksville Community Centers will close temporarily for Annual Maintenance

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks & Recreation would like to remind citizens that the Burt-Cobb Community Center, located at 1101 Franklin Street, will be closed February 6th-19th to conduct their annual maintenance period.
The gymnasium will be closed February 20th-26th to replace flooring. The center will return to normal operating hours the Monday following the annual maintenance period. [Read more]
