Clarksville dedicates Frank Sutton statue

Actor, soldier, humanitarian honored in hometown
Clarksville, TN – On Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017, a statue of actor Frank “Sgt. Carter” Sutton, who was born and raised in Clarksville, was dedicated on Franklin Street in Downtown Clarksville.
A crowd of more than 150 people — including a large group of third-grade students from Clarksville Academy and a busload of Coldwell Banker Realtors — gathered to watch Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan, statue project leader Mark Holleman, and sculptor Scott Wise pull the shroud from the bronze image.

The completed statue of Frank Sutton was unveiled at 1:30pm Wednesday near the Roxy Theatre on Franklin Street by Mark Holleman, Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan and sculptor Scott Wise.

Grant allows expansion of City of Clarksville’s bike-sharing service
Clarksville, TN – A group of Clarksville Academy students worked with Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department staff Friday to assemble 20 new BCycles for two new bike-share stations coming to Clarksville later this spring.

“Planters Bank Presents…” Film Series
Clarksville, TN – The “Planters Bank Presents…” film series next movie is Disney and Pixar’s “Finding Nemo”. This movie will be shown this Sunday, April 23rd, 2017 at the Roxy Regional Theatre at 2:00pm.
“Finding Nemo” is about a timid clownfish setting out on a journey to bring his son home after he is captured in the Great Barrier Reef and taken to Sydney. A story about family, courage and challenges, Disney and Pixar’s animated adventure captured the Academy Award for “Best Animated Feature Film.”
City of Clarksville to dedicate Frank Sutton statue Saturday

Clarksville, TN – A statue of actor Frank “Sergeant Carter” Sutton, who was born and raised in Clarksville, will be dedicated at 1:30pm Saturday on Franklin Street in Downtown Clarksville.
Mark Holleman, civic leader and broker/owner of Coldwell Banker Conroy, Marable & Holleman working with the City of Clarksville, led the drive to place the statue — created by local sculptor Scott Wise — near the Roxy Theatre in Sutton’s hometown.

Clarksville, TN – The “Planters Bank Presents…” film series next movie is “The Ten Commandments” starring Charlton Heston and Yul Brynner. This movie will be shown this Sunday, April 2nd, 2017 at the Roxy Regional Theatre at 2:00pm.
“The Ten Commandments” is the final film directed by Cecil B. DeMille and relates the life of Moses, from the time he was discovered in the bullrushes as an infant by the pharoah’s daughter, to his long, hard struggle to free the Hebrews from their slavery at the hands of the Egyptians.
