Davis to Speak about General John Bell Hood and Confederate Army Command in Tennessee
Clarksville, TN – On Thursday, July 21st, 2016 Author Stephen Davis will be giving a talk, “General John Bell Hood and Confederate Army Command in Tennessee” and signing copies of his book, “A Long and Bloody Task” at the Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center located at 120 Duncan Street, Clarksville, TN.
Spring of 1864 brought a whole new war to the Western Theater, with new commanders and what would become a new style of warfare.

Clarksville, TN – Every human being has worth and deserves dignity. “Everyone matters” is an incredibly powerful humanitarian ideal, and one upon which the United States seems to continually both build and define. We hear the whispers of this ideal within the words of the Declaration of Independence.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
The generation of Americans which fought to free us from the tyranny of Europe in the late 18th Century probably could not have grasped how these words, and the spirit of the ideal they reflect would be used by subsequent generations to form the nation we live within today.

Fort Defiance offers haunting experience for the public

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will host its Halloween at Fort Defiance event on Friday, October 30th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the fort located at 120 Duncan Street.

Living history with the 3rd Kentucky at Fort Defiance this weekend

Throughout the two-day event, the 3rd Kentucky Infantry CSA will be demonstrating Civil War camp life and conducting rifle fire demonstrations.
