Montgomery County announces Billy Ray Cyrus to Ride in Veterans Day Parade

Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Government is pleased to announce that country singer Billy Ray Cyrus will be riding in the Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 5th, as a guest of Appleton’s Harley Davidson.
Cyrus, along with a special guest of his, will be riding with a group of motorcyclists in the parade to support Operation Home Front.

City of Clarksville held ‘Welcome Home Veterans’ events

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan greeted hundreds of military veterans at Liberty Park on Thursday for a Welcome Home Parade, a picnic lunch and musical entertainment.
“We welcome you to Clarksville, we honor you, and we thank you for your service to America,” McMillan said to a lunchtime audience in the Wilma Rudolph Events Center. “Please know that the city of Clarksville, with its special connection to Fort Campbell, especially loves our veterans.”

A Minnesota native who left her home and enlisted in the army at the age of 17, Cooper’s life has more or less revolved around the military ever since.

Clarksville, TN – On June 15th, a group of professional university photographers will take over the Austin Peay State University Red Barn and convert the building’s old basketball court into a temporary photo studio.
From 2:00pm-5:00pm that afternoon, these photographers—known for creating official and iconic images for institutions across the country like the University of Wisconsin, Baylor University and Wake Forest University —will take free portraits of any local individual with a direct military connection—including active duty soldiers, veterans and their families.

Jack B. Turner established the award several years ago in honor of Darol Walker, retired vice president of Jack B. Turner and Associates Inc. in Clarksville and retired command sergeant major in the U.S. Army.
