This weeks highlights include: City hosts Warrior Week Military Appreciation Picnic, Movies in the Park features ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’, Friends of Fort Defiance Gear up for Annual Fundraising Event and New City concert series kicks off June 21st.
APSU now offering graduate degree in engineering technology

Clarksville, TN – Earlier this year, the Tennessee Higher Education Commission approved a new graduate degree program at Austin Peay State University – a Master of Science in Engineering Technology.
The program, developed in response to the needs of industrial employers in this area, is currently accepting students for the Fall 2014 semester.
Clarksville-Montgomery County Convention & Visitors Bureau offering group tours packages mixing local attractions, big-name concerts

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is engaging in an exciting new Group Tour program that enhances local tourism, while at the same time providing amazing entertainment options for local residents right here at home.
A series of group tours lasting for 4 days each are planned for Memorial Day, the 4th of July, and Labor Day; and are billed as “Heroes, Hometowns and Legends.” With the final tour this year being a 3 day event planned for the Christmas season billed as “God, Country, Christmas.”

City of Clarksville hosts Warrior Week Military Appreciation Picnic

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville will once again, proudly host the Warrior Week military appreciation picnic for Fort Campbell soldiers and their families.
The picnic will be held on Saturday, June 14th, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at Heritage Park, 1241 Peachers Mill Road, Clarksville, TN.
Premier Medical Welcomes Dr. Patricia Keefe to their Group Practice

Clarksville, TN – Premier Medical Group is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Patricia Keefe to their general surgery department.
Dr. Keefe studied at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and earned her medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. She completed her general surgery residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Wrapping up Clarksville’s 2014 Rivers and Spires Festival

Clarksville, TN – The last day of the 2014 Rivers and Spires Festival continued to be the best in memory. The weather was absolutely flawless, neither too hot nor to cold. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky throughout the entire day.
I rushed down to the Festival at 9:00am to catch the annual WJZM 1400 AM Clarksville in Review broadcast from the Festival. This usually is held at the Bill Roberts thunder road automotive tent on Franklin Street just down from the Roxy Regional Theatre. The program was already well underway when I arrived.

Nichole recently earned her real estate license in Tennessee and joined Crye-Leike’s Clarksville, St. Bethlehem branch office.
Fort Campbell’s 744th Ordnance Company Lends a Helping Hand to Friends of Dunbar Cave

Clarksville, TN – In March, the 744th Ordnance Company (EOD) part of the 52 Ordnance Group (EOD) from Fort Campbell, along with members of the Tennessee Trails Association, volunteered over 50 man hours and removed 400 lbs. of cinder blocks, 300 lbs. of tires, 200 lbs. of metal and over 50 lbs. of trash. Platoon leader, Lt. Chris Weber stated, “We worked our butts off.” He added “Everyone had a great time and really enjoyed ourselves.”
Friends Group President, Lionel Senseney is grateful for the community’s effort to help the Friends Group and expand our park. “What an effort!” Lionel said, “Many thanks to everyone that is helping.”
Grégoire Maret Quartet closes out APSU’s 53rd Annual Midsouth Jazz Festival

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Community Concert Association in conjunction with Austin Peay State University brought the Grégoire Maret Quartet to the Midsouth Jazz Festival on Saturday evening. The Midsouth jazz Festival closes out Clarksville Community Concert Association’s Community Concert Series each year.
The Grégoire Maret performance at the Midsouth Jazz Festival like all great jazz, seemed to be either a love it or hate it experience; with a sampling of audience members going each way. But as they say it takes different strokes for different folks.

Five Course French Cuisine Dinner to Benefit Local American Red Cross
Clarksville, TN – The Two Rivers Chapter of the American Red Cross will be hosting the 3rd Annual Escoffier Dinner – The Art of French Cuisine, on Saturday, April 12th beginning at 6:00pm at The Looking Glass Restaurant located at 329 Warfield Boulevard Suite H, Clarksville, Tennessee.
Tickets are available for $100.00 per person and all proceeds will support the American Red Cross whether it’s responding to a disaster, teaching skills that can save a life, or assisting our military members and their families.
