Clarksville, TN – On a mild November evening, Sidney Brown, 87, stood along the sidelines at Austin Peay State University’s Fortera Stadium. He wore a blue blazer, which sagged from all the medals pinned above the left pocket, and a ball cap for the 555th Parachute Infantry, the U.S. Army’s famed all-black airborne unit.

Clarksville, TN – Where would the journalist, or a democratic society for that matter, be without sunshine laws? Created in the 1970s, the laws require that governments provide public access to meetings and records.
“These tools are necessary for journalists, who often gather public information to write their stories, either by attending open public meetings or by filing open records requests,” Dr. Melony Shemberger, an award-winning journalist and assistant director of communication at Austin Peay State University, said. 5 Combat Wounded to Get VIP Treatment at Craig Morgan Concert
Oak Grove, KY – Five Combat Wounded Soldiers from the Warrior Transition Unit on Fort Campbell have been invited to a meet and greet with country star, Craig Morgan, before his performance at the Viceroy Performing Arts Center in Oak Grove, KY on May 28th, 2011.
The soldiers were invited by the Oak Grove Tourism Commission to join the VIP meet and greet and enjoy VIP seating during the show. The Warrior Transition Unit selected the 5 soldiers who will receive the VIP treatment. The concert is part of Oak Grove Tourism’s 4th Annual Spring Into Summer festival which is free and open to the public.
