Austin Peay State University ROTC student Zachary Labas has deployed Five Times

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) ROTC program this fall has 37 veteran soldiers, and each brings professional, tactical and technical knowledge and experience to their fellow cadets.

Zachary Labas, a senior at APSU, is one of the 37 veteran soldiers in the program. He is also the ROTC’s battalion commander (top-ranking cadet) this fall.

Decorated soldier awarded APSU ROTC CSM Darol Walker Award

May 2, 2015

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – The recipient of the 2015 Command Sgt. Maj. Darol Walker Award at Austin Peay State University is ROTC Cadet Kevin Doss, a decorated career soldier.

Doss, born in San Antonio, Texas, graduated from Boerne High School in 2001 and attended the University of Texas from 2001-03. He will graduate May 8th from APSU with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Military Science.

Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs commissioner Many-Bears Grinder to speak at Austin Peay ceremony honoring military graduates

Austin Peay State University - APSUMany-Bears GrinderClarksville, TN – The Commissioner for the Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs (TDVA) is coming to Austin Peay State University on December 10th to help honor a special group of graduating APSU students.

At 5:00pm that afternoon, the University will host its Fall 2014 Military and Veterans Graduate Recognition Ceremony in the Mabry Concert Hall, with Many-Bears Grinder, the state’s first female TDVA commissioner, serving as the keynote speaker. [Read more]

Austin Peay State University presents Walker Award to Cadet Nathan Brewer

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – The recipient of the 2013 Command Sgt. Maj. Darol Walker Award at Austin Peay State University is one of the nation’s top ROTC cadets.

Cadet Nathan Brewer with APSU’s Governors Guard Battalion of the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) was presented the award during a breakfast ceremony held Thursday, May 2nd at APSU. He already has prior military service, having been assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group and 82nd Airborne Division.
