The Wedding Singer at the Roxy Regional Theatre is a Real Blast from the Past

Clarksville, TN – The Roxy Regional Theatre is currently staging their production of the smash hit musical The Wedding Singer which takes viewers on a flashback to the 1980s, complete with the big hair, corny clothes, and some amazing music.
In the show, we are back in 1985 with rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart (Josh Bernaski), New Jersey’s favorite wedding Singer. He is the life of every party, until his fiancée Linda (Sara Fetgatter) ditches him at the altar. He is “Shot through the heart” to paraphrase Bon Jovi, after which in his grief Robbie makes every wedding he sings at as disastrous as his own.

Clarksville’s Liberty Park opened Friday

Clarksville, TN – Liberty Park opened yesterday morning at dawn and Clarksvillians were ready and waiting for the opening of the park areas of the new Clarksville Marina.
Fishermen were the first on hand. They had been eying the pond for months looking forward for the chance to be one of the first anglers to try their luck there. By 10:00am around 20 anglers had staked out their positions around the banks.
Richview Middle School Students to Compete in National History Day Competition

Clarksville, TN – All Eighth grade PASS (gifted program) students in Montgomery County competed in the district level of the National History Day Contest on February 22nd, 2012.
Students who placed at the district level moved on to compete at the state level on April 22nd, 2012 in Nashville Tennessee.

Emily Ritchart, John Courson, Jake Kolaski, Sidney McCarty, and Cherie Saffold of Richview Middle School are heading to Washington D.C. to compete in National History Day.
Annual TWRA and Clarksville Parks and Recreation Youth Fishing Rodeo

Nashville, TN – The Annual Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Clarksville Parks and Recreation Youth Fishing Rodeo will be held Saturday, June 9th, 2012 at the Liberty Park Pond in Clarksville Tennessee.

Boy Scout Troop 546 to hold Fundraising Yard Sale

Cunningham, TN – On Saturday, May 5th, Scout Troop 546 is having a big fund raising Yard Sale at the Central Civitan Building 1/2 mile down Hwy 13 from the 13/48 split on the right. The sale starts at 7:00am.
There will be alittle bit of everything at the sale. Donations of items for the sale will also be taken. All proceeds goes towards the Philmont, New Mexico hiking trip this Summer.

Boy Scout Troop 546 sold Funnel Cakes at the 2011 Lone Oak Picnic to raise money to replace their stolen trailer. The trailer was stolen just three weeks prior to the picnic.
The Rivers and Spires 2012 Festival Continues Today!

Clarksville, TN – It’s hard to believe another year has passed and we are ready up for the 10th annual Rivers and Spires Festival, April 19th-21st. As usual there will be tons of free concerts, entertainment and activities. But, because it is our birthday, and we think a big one, the Festival has a few surprises up its sleeve, but you’ll have to come out and see!
If you’ve never been to the Rivers & Spires Festival or are new to town, put it on your calendar and get ready to have a great time. Lined with craft and food vendors, six music stages, kids’ activities and artisan booths, Historic Downtown transforms each year as the festival goes into full swing. Music is a big part of the event, with at least two artists on one of the many stages at any given time. But it doesn’t stop at just music.
