Downtown @Sundown Concert Series at Downtown Commons.Montgomery County, TN – The Ace Party Band played at Downtown @ Sundown Friday night, July 15th to the delight of everyone that attended. The weather was alittle warm at first, but a nice cool breeze helped cool things down.

“Tonight we have the Ace Party Band at Downtown @ Sundown. The crowd is super pumped. The band is playing a mix of genres. They have everyone up dancing and singing,” said Elizabeth Quinton Downtown Commons event planning manager.

2022 Montgomery County Fair kicks off July 28th

Montgomery County Parks and Recreation receives grant for a Community Garden at Rotary Park

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – On July 11th, 2022 representatives from AARP formally awarded a Community Challenge Grant of $12,900 to install a community garden near the Wade Bourne Nature Center at Rotary Park.

Montgomery County Parks and Recreation Natural Resource and Program Manager Katie Netti and former CMC Green Certification Manager Carlye Sommers, co-authored the grant application in March 2022 and received notification of the award in June 2022.

Clarksville Women's ClubClarksville, TN – Patty Gabilondo, President, and Deanna Shepard, Vice President of the Clarksville Women’s, Club were joined by members of the Art Study Group as well as the Clarksville Women’s Club at the office of the Montgomery County Archives where the ladies were treated to a tour of the facility by County Archivist Jill Hastings-Johnson and her staff.

Everyone had a Blast at Clarksville’s Independence Day Celebration

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville’s 2022 Independence Day Celebration took place Sunday, July 3rd at Liberty Park. This free event featured activities, a live concert, and a fireworks show. This year’s fireworks display is co-sponsored by the City of Clarksville and the Montgomery County Government.

Activities like cornhole, sack races, etc, started at 5:00pm. The concerts began at 6:30pm.

Custom House Museum’s Flying High unveils Signature Artwork, Kitty Harvill’s Painting “Peg’s Pony”

Customs House Museum & Cultural CenterClarksville, TN – Every year for Flying High, the Customs House Museum & Cultural Center’s largest fundraising gala, one local artist is commissioned to be the “Signature Artist” to produce a unique and original work of art to be sold as the highlight of the event’s live auction.

This year, recently-returned Clarksvillian Kitty Harvill has provided an emotionally-charged watercolor that makes a lasting impression, while also paying homage to her mother’s legacy with the Museum.
