F2Con Gaming Convention Kicks Off Weekend of High-Stakes Competition and Casual Fun in Clarksville

CDE Lightband's F2ConClarksville, TN – F2CON, Clarksville’s highly anticipated annual gaming convention, opened its doors on Friday night at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center, kicking off a weekend packed with competitive and casual gaming. For the first time in the event’s history, the convention began on a Friday evening at 7:00pm, drawing hundreds of gamers and spectators from across the region.

Hosted by CDE Lightband and Visit Clarksville, F2CON, which began in 2018, has quickly grown into a staple event for the local gaming community. This year’s convention features an impressive $10,000 total prize pool, drawing competitive gamers from across the country. Registration for the competitive tournaments is set at $50.00, with an additional $5.00 fee per game. Casual gamers can enjoy the weekend for a flat rate of $15.00.

Fantastic Turnout for 116th Annual Lone Oak Picnic

The Civitan ClubCunningham, TN – The 116th annual Lone Oak Picnic, held on Saturday, July 27th, 2024, from 10:00am to 2:00pm, was an overwhelming success. It united families, local politicians, and food aficionados for a day of entertainment, speeches, and delectable barbecue.

This cherished community event occurred at the Central Civitan Club’s building at 275 Highway 13, with plenty of free parking off Alonzo Place.

“The turnout was great. It was an election year, so we had a lot of politicians out here today, and many people come to listen to him,” said Central Civitan President Joe Mills.

Historic Collinsville Pioneer SettlementClarksville, TN – Historic Collinsville Pioneer Settlement in rural Montgomery County has announced its special “Second Saturday” event for the month of May. Planting Day will be held on Saturday, May 11th, from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Planting Day offers visitors a chance to exercise their green thumb and share their passion for gardening as flowers, herbs, and vegetables are planted throughout the site. Plants will be provided. Guests are invited to bring their own gloves and small gardening tools, including trowels for digging or hand cultivators for breaking up the soil. Plant and soil donations are welcome.
