63rd Annual Christmas Parade begins at 5:00pm in Downtown Clarksville

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department announces that the annual Christmas parade, hosted by the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government, will take place on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022 at 5:00pm in Downtown Clarksville.
The parade route will begin on Eighth Street on the Austin Peay State University campus. From Eighth Street, the parade will progress to College Street and then to University Avenue.
From there the route is the same as years past, proceeding around Public Square, the Historic Courthouse and back to Franklin Street. From Franklin, the route will turn onto Eighth Street and then return onto the APSU Campus. A map of the route can be found at https://bit.ly/3G8m97H.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces Native American Heritage Month to be held at Fort Defiance

Clarksville, TN – Join members of the Native Cultural Circle on November 19th from 11:00am until 12:30pm for storytelling and dance demonstrations at Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center.
The event is part of Native American Heritage Month. The group will share and discuss their history and demonstrate aspects of Native American culture.
“Montgomery County has many historical sites originating from diverse indigenous populations,” said Roxanne Jenkins, Associate Historical Interpreter at Fort Defiance.
Fright on Franklin returns to Downtown Clarksville

Clarksville, TN – Join us for an afternoon of spooky fun at The City of Clarksville’s annual Fright on Franklin presented by Altra Federal Credit Union, which will return to Downtown Clarksville on October 29th, 2022 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
This year’s event will feature more than 60 candy booth vendors, a costume contest, food trucks, and much more.
A free Kids Zone presented by Kelly Kellett Blue Cord Realty will feature free pumpkins and pumpkin painting for the first 250 kids.,

Kat & Alex will open the stage for the evening. Kat & Alex are a husband and wife duo from American Idol. They recently signed with Sony Music in Nashville and have over 7.9 million streams on Spotify with their song, ‘How Many Times.’
Following Kat & Alex, Frank Ray will take the stage for the remainder of the night. Frank Ray’s latest single, ‘Country’d Look Good On You’ became the most added song on Country radio in 2021. Both artists have played at the Grand Ole Opry, and we are excited to see their talent at Downtown Commons!
Fort Defiance to host Sevier Days event

Clarksville, TN – Fort Defiance Interpretive Center will host Sevier Days, a living history event from 10:00am to 3:30pm Saturday, September 17th, 2022.
Native American and frontier reenactors will demonstrate flint knapping, an authentic blacksmith operation, frontier camp life, and flintlock musket firing.

Clarksville’s Riverfest returns September 9th-10th

Clarksville, TN – The 33rd annual Riverfest Festival put on by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department takes place Friday, September 9th from 5:00pm until 11:00pm and Saturday, September 10th from 11:00am to 11:00pm.
Riverfest takes place along the banks of the Cumberland River at McGregor Park.
Come out and celebrate the cultural diversity of Clarksville through music, local eats, drinks, shopping, and recreational activities for the entire family.
Beatles vs Stones Downtown @ Sundown September 2nd

Montgomery County, TN – This Friday, August 19th, beginning at 6:15pm, join us at a For the Peayple Gathering and hear remarks from APSU President Licari, APSU athletics, and Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett.
The APSU cheer and dance team and the Governors Own Marching Band will also be present to motivate the crowd and lead the APSU Fight Song!
Following APSU’s For the Peayple Gathering, Downtown @ Sundown will feature The Eagles Project! Starting at 7:00pm, The Eagles Project will take you back to the ’70s with top songs like Hotel California, Take It Easy, and Desperado.
