Clarksville, TN – When the 2012 Clarksville Downtown Market opens on Saturday, May 19th, approximately 60 vendors will be on hand to offer local fresh produce, baked goods, home décor, seasonal flowers and more.
The opening of this year’s market will be like none other. Kids will be invited to participate in gardening crafts, Lydia Walker will be performing, Lousie Delgandio will demonstrate how to make crepes, and give-a-ways will be handed out every thirty minutes. Clarksville Sports Network to broadcast Clarksville High School State Tournament Games

Clarksville, TN – Hank Bonecutter, President of the Clarksville Sports Network, has announced that his radio station, 1400AM WJZM, will broadcast the Clarksville High School Lady Wildcats basketball games. Clarksville Parks & Recreation is encouraging all the movie-goers out there to visit the “Clarksville Movies in the Park” Facebook page every day to guess the titles for this year’s showings. Hints and clues will be provided and the first one to guess correctly receives a free treat!
Wade Neely joins Clarksville Sports Network

Clarksville, TN – Wade Neely has joined Wjzm radio to join the Clarksville Sports Network in 2012. Neely comes to WJZM after 21 months as the Sports Director of WKSR AM-FM in Pulaski, Tennessee. Neely was hired, after a nationwide search, to join former Leaf Chronicle sports writer, James Horne, in launching a new sports show on 1400 Wjzm, “From the Sidelines,” weekday afternoons, 3:00pm-6:00pm. Neely will also be a staff writer for Clarksvillesportsnetwork.com, expected to be online in 2012.
Hank Bonecutter, President of Cumberland Radio Partners Inc., owners of Wjzm radio, is excited about the new venture. “We saw an opportunity to provide the Clarksville area with a more complete package of sports reporting, focusing on local sports, and the people who are involved in them. We will host more sports on radio than any other radio station in Clarksville, and fill our website with more stories, photos and features than is available anywhere in the Clarksville area.”

Clarksville, TN – As a manager of a downtown business, I get asked all the time about my shop, and other downtown shops and why we choose to be part of a downtown community. Why did we decide to be here versus a strip mall, independent building or in the mall. Well, I know what the owner of ARTifacts, Paige King, would say. But I can’t say for sure what the reasoning for the other business owners in downtown would say.
So I decided it was time to ask! I thought it would be a good idea to ask all the members of the Downtown Clarksville Association (DCA) all the questions we get asked daily and share them with you here.
