Directed by Ryan Bowie, the beloved comedy-drama which inspired the 1989 film starring Dolly Parton, Julia Roberts, Sally Field, Shirley MacLaine, Olympia Dukakis and Daryl Hannah centers on the bond among a group of six Southern women at a small-town beauty shop in northwest Louisiana.

A hilarious musical about a musical by people who write musicals, this Tony Award-nominated one-act centers on two struggling writers, Jeff and Hunter, who are desperate to get a piece into the New York Musical Theatre Festival.  The only problem is they have no ideas … and the submission deadline is a mere three weeks away.

Dr. Seuss Favorites Come to Life in “SEUSSICAL: The Musical” at the Roxy Regional Theatre, March 17th – April 8th

Clarskville's Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – Children across the nation recently celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss with Read Across America Day. The Roxy Regional Theatre continues the celebration in Historic Downtown Clarksville with the staging of “SEUSSICAL: The Musical”, opening this Friday, March 17th, and continuing through April 8th.

Kendall Adaire Payne stars as The Cat in the Hat in this musical extravaganza that is sure to entertain the entire family.
 
“The Cat in the Hat is the narrative host who guides the audience through the show,” Payne said. “He pops up here and there and pretty much everywhere, usually out of nowhere, with comedic blurbs.”

Now the Roxy Regional Theatre is bringing to life the inspirational true story of a young girl swept up in the turmoil of the Holocaust in “The Diary of Anne Frank”, opening Friday, February 17th, at 8:00pm.

During the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands, Anne Frank began to keep a diary on June 14th, 1942, two days after her thirteenth birthday and twenty-two days before going into hiding with her mother, father, sister and four others.

Roxy Regional Theatre Joins Over 500 Theatre Organizations Across the Nation in The Ghostlight Project

Clarskville's Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – On Thursday, January 19th, the Roxy Regional Theatre joined theatre organizations across the country in The Ghostlight Project. At 5:30pm, theatres across all time zones gathered to join in solidarity through the shared commitment to greater inclusion, participation and compassion in our theatres and our communities.
   
The inspiration for the project was the theatrical tradition of turning on a “ghostlight” at the end of the night when the theatres go dark, offering visibility and safety for all who might enter.

Spread the Word: ” ‘V’ Monologues” Return to the Roxy Regional Theatre for the 15th Year, January 13th – January 28th

Clarskville's Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – Funny, outrageous, emotionally affecting and occasionally angry … Eve Ensler’s wildly popular series of monologues about women and performed by women is back for the fifteenth year with the Roxy Regional Theatre’s presentation of “The Vagina Monologues”, January 13th – January 28th.

Returning favorites Emily Rourke (most recently seen as Molly in Harry Connick, Jr.’s The Happy Elf) and Leigh Martha Klinger (whom audiences may remember as Magenta in The Rocky Horror Show and, most recently, as Gilda in The Happy Elf) will take the stage of the Roxy’s theotherspace in readings of these monologues based on interviews Eve Ensler conducted with 200 women about their views on sex, relationships, and violence against women.

“Henry V” Marks Roxy Regional Theatre’s 32nd Annual Shakespearean Production, November 4th – November 12th

Clarskville's Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – What makes a man a king? And, by the same token, what makes a king a man?

This fall, the Roxy Regional Theatre delves into these questions with the company’s 32nd annual foray into the works attributed to William Shakespeare. An exploration into the nature of leadership and its relationship to morality, “Henry V” opens Friday, November 4th, at 8:00pm, for a limited run.

One of Shakespeare’s most famous history plays and the final in a tetralogy preceded by Richard II, Henry IV, Part 1, and Henry IV, Part 2, the play is based on the life of King Henry V of England and centers around events occurring before and after the battle of Agincourt in 1415, during the Hundred Years War.
