Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, February 1st, the Subdued Few Motorcycle Club will hold a bike show benefiting Carl Barber. The Carl Barber Bike Show Benefit ride will start at 10:00am at Jerry’s Bar and Grill. The rest of the events will start at 11:30am.

The award-winning Rivers and Spires Festival will be filming the commercial to go along with the recently selected jingle. Tennessee Association of Craft Artists Show at Clarksville’s Customs House Museum

Clarksville, TN – Twenty four members of TACA will exhibit woodturnings, ceramics, tapestries, and embroideries; as well as, traditional paintings and photography at the museum this month.
Most Tennesseans are familiar with the TACA (Tennessee Association of Craft Artists) Craft Fairs that take over Nashville’s Centennial Park every year. The events have repeatedly been ranked as one of the “Top Twenty Events in the Southeast” by the Southeast Tourism Society.

Clarksville’s Roxy Regional Theatre brings “V” Monologues back for Twelfth Year

Clarksville, TN – Eve Ensler’s touching, often hilarious series of monologues about women and performed by women has played to packed houses around the country, and the Roxy Regional Theatre’s presentation of “The Vagina Monologues” — beginning its twelfth year on Friday, January 10th, at 8:00pm — is no exception.
This year, Leslie Greene, Michelle Foletta and Adriane Wiley-Hatfield take the stage of the Roxy’s theotherspace in readings of these monologues based on interviews Eve Ensler conducted with 200 women about their views on sex, relationships, and violence against women.

Art & Lunch Film: Alberto Giacometti

Free admission to film. Bagged lunches welcome. The son of a painter, Alberto Giacometti was born in 1901 in Italian-speaking Switzerland. At 18, he left school to find himself. Soon after, he announced that he would devote his life to art. In conjunction with the exhibit TACA Regional Exhibition.
The museum will be closed January 1st for New Year’s Day.

“A Year With Frog and Toad” now playing at Clarksville’s Roxy Regional Theatre

Clarksville, TN – Spend four fun-filled seasons with Arnold Lobel’s beloved storybook characters in the Tony-nominated musical “A Year With Frog and Toad”, playing December 18th – 21st at the Roxy Regional Theatre.
In Robert and Willie Reale’s whimsical show, Frog and Toad wake from hibernation in the Spring, plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding, and learn life lessons along the way. Part vaudeville, part make-believe and all charm, “A Year With Frog and Toad” incorporates stories from Lobel’s four books, including the Caldecott Honor-winning Frog and Toad are Friends and the Newbery Honor-winning Frog and Toad Together.

Deadline for Clarksville’s 54th Annual Christmas Parade is quickly approaching

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and
Montgomery County Government have partnered along with Agero to host the 54th Annual Christmas Parade. The parade, a night-time, lighted Christmas parade, is scheduled for December 7th, 2013 beginning at 5:00pm in Downtown Clarksville.

The Christmas parade is an event for local businesses, schools, and organizations to showcase their Christmas spirit. Don’t miss the Budweiser Clydesdales, the 101st Army Band and Grand Marshal local cancer survivor, Garrett Whipple!
A brief tree lighting ceremony will be held immediately following the parade on Public Square with Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan and on the County Square with Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers. This year’s parade theme is “Storybook Christmas”. The deadline to enter is December 5th.
Parade entry forms are available at the city’s three community centers, the Parks and Recreation office, and online at www.mcgtn.org or www.cityofclarksville.com/parade. The cost to enter is $30.00 for all entries except churches and civic groups. All entries must also be accompanied by an unwrapped new toy, non-perishable food items, or grocery store gift cards valued at $25.00. Church and civic groups need only donate item valued at $25.00 for entry.
All toys, non-perishable food items, and gift cards will be collected during parade check-in, on December 7th, and will be distributed among local charities.
