Nightmasters kick off free downtown concert series
Clarksville, TN – Jammin’ in the Alley, a free concert series on Strawberry Alley in the heart of downtown Clarksville, returns for another year of concerts and family fun.
The first concert will be from 7:00pm-10:00pm Friday, June 1st, 2018 with a performance by Nightmasters, a popular local blues-rock band.

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville, Tennessee is a community that appreciates veterans. The city borders the Fort Campbell Army Post, so appreciating military service is simply the way of life for both residents and businesses.
Beyond the ingrained respect that happens daily, this community publicly shows its support annually–in a big way–with a five-day Welcome Home Veterans Celebration.
The Clarksville Welcome Home Veterans Celebration will be held September 12th-16th, 2018.

Fifty local youth, ages 8 to 18, from the Roxy Regional School of the Arts present the beloved award-winning musical “Annie, Jr.” at the Roxy Regional Theatre, May 18th through June 9th, 2018.
Mikquala Skelton stars as little orphan Annie, who is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan, a role shared by Jesse Boyle and Rebecca Morrison.

Clarksville’s 40th Annual Queen City Road Race not dampened by rain

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville’s 40th Annual Queen City Road Race saw runners and walkers of all ages take to the streets of Downtown Clarksville in spite of relentless heavy rain that lasted throughout Saturday morning.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Tina Boysha was once again at the helm of the popular event.
1,200 runners came out Saturday for a rainy Queen City Road Race.
Clarksville’s May First Thursday Art Walk has large turnout

Clarksville, TN – Downtown Clarksville’s First Thursday Art Walk for May saw perfect weather, new venues, and big crowds, as local artists showed off their latest creations.
The recently-opened Downtown Commons joined in the First Thursday fun for the first time, featuring live music from It’s Relative, the musical brother/sister duo of Nashville-based musicians Jeremiah & Jordan Johnson.
The Riverview Inn hosted local photographer, Lucas Ryan Chambers, an internationally published photographer and graphic designer based in Clarksville, TN.
Several downtown establishments featured local artists for Clarksville’s May First Thursday Art Walk.

Runners can register for the 5K or One Mile Event
Clarksville, TN – The 40th Annual Queen City Road Race, scheduled for Saturday, May 5th, 2018 is quickly approaching and there is still time to register in person or online.
Online registration can be completed at www.cityofclarksville.com/parksrec and is available until noon on Friday, May 4th. Participants registering in person may come by the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Office, 102 Public Square, through Friday, May 4th or register on-site at Austin Peay’s Foy Center the morning of Saturday, May 5th.

Austin Peay State University professors to present documentary, “Clarksville 1937,” at Nashville Film Festival

Clarksville, TN – When Charles Crow started filming everyday life in downtown Clarksville, there was no such thing as YouTube or iPhones or even the Internet.
The year was 1937, and Crow, a young editor with The Leaf-Chronicle, had just purchased a 16-millimeter Keystone Camera—one of the first affordable film cameras sold in the U.S. It only captured images in black and white and without sound.
APSU professors Heuston and Karen Bullis have turned the Charles Crow’s footage into an 8-minute documentary, “Clarksville 1937,”

Runners should register before April 13th for discounted rate
Clarksville, TN – It’s time to lace up those running shoes and begin preparing for the 40th Queen City Road Race, a City of Clarksville tradition that promotes health and fitness for people of all ages.
Registrants can choose to participate in either the one-mile event at 8:30am or the 5K beginning at 8:45am on Saturday, May 5th, 2018.
