Clarksville Downtown Parking changes go into effect September 8th

Clarksville Downtown Parking Plan includes Four-Hour Limit at all On-Street Meters

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – On Tuesday, September 8th, 2020, the new downtown parking plan approved last month by the Clarksville Parking Commission will take effect.

The changes apply only to on-street metered spaces, which will now require a 25-cent payment to begin a parking session.

Bikers Who Care annual Toy Run set for September 19th

Bikers Who CareClarksville, TN – On Monday, August 10th, 2020, Bikers Who Care Director Bill Langford announced that this year’s BWC Toy Run will take place Saturday, September 19th, 2020.

Riders are encouraged to arrive at Liberty Park at 11:00am. They will depart for their scenic journey through Clarksville at 1:00pm and arrive at Appleton Harley-Davidson about 30 minutes later.

Roxy Regional Theatre enters phased reopening in September with Planters Bank Presents… Film Series

Clarskville's Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – Following a six-month hiatus, Clarksville’s oldest professional theatre is slated to begin a phased reopening this September with a host of movie favorites in the Roxy Regional Theatre’s popular Planters Bank Presents… Film Series.

The Roxy Regional Theatre theatre went dark in mid-March before being able to open its production of “A Streetcar Named Desire”, due to recommendations from state and local officials regarding the escalating COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic and in the interest of the safety of patrons, performers and staff.

Clarksville to dedicate ‘Tennessee Triumph’ Suffrage Statue on August 15th

We were the final state needed for ratification, and our legislators came through with a two-vote victory margin on August 18th, 1920, with the law becoming effective eight days later.

APSU’s Ann Ross Bookstore now ties campus with downtown community

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – After years of being hidden away inside of campus, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Ann Ross Bookstore now has a more prominent home at the corner of College and Fourth streets in downtown Clarksville. The University officially opened the new, 13,000-square-foot location in late June, providing more space for merchandise and greater community access.

Clarksville Downtown Parking Changes Proposed

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Downtown merchants and property owners gathered Wednesday to hear City of Clarksville officials and consultants from Premier Parking outline potential changes to on-street metered parking in Downtown Clarksville.

City officials said the changes would create a more consumer friendly approach to downtown parking and overcome some of the current system’s equipment and enforcement challenges.

During the first round of applications, the Clarksville Area Chamber approved 6 facade grants, totaling $75,000.
