APSU purchases adjacent, 10-acre Jenkins and Wynne property

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University, which turns 90 next year, recently experienced a late growth spurt. Earlier this week, the campus grew by about 10 acres when the school finally closed on property previously owned by the Jenkins and Wynne auto dealership.
The $8.8 million purchase marks one of the largest expansions in the University’s history, and it now connects the 182-acre College Street campus with downtown Clarksville.
APSU supporter Don Jenkins receives Tennessee Board of Regents Chancellor’s Award

Clarksville, TN – Don Jenkins, president and CEO of Jenkins & Wynne Ford-Lincoln-Honda, was presented with the Tennessee Board of Regents 2015 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Philanthropy earlier this month in recognition of his years of service to Austin Peay State University.
“Mr. Jenkins is a true friend and supporter of this University,” John Morgan, TBR Chancellor, said during the annual APSU Foundation Dinner on June 2nd.
APSU, Clarksville Chamber and Montgomery County Hosting Veterans and Homecoming Celebrations this November

Clarksville, TN – This November, Austin Peay State University will partner with Montgomery County and the Clarksville-Area Chamber of Commerce to honor the veterans and military-affiliated individuals who live, study and work in this community.
The University is tailoring its 2014 Homecoming Celebration that month to include the military theme “Gov Strong,” creating a week long community and university celebration for local veterans. Both entities will host several events during the first week of November, culminating in a joint Homecoming/Veterans Day Parade through downtown Clarksville and campus at 10:00am on November 8th.
IDB announces Wally Crow as New Chairman

Crow is a contract employee with the Directorate of Public Works at Fort Campbell and the owner of Crow Engineering.

Aspire Clarksville Foundation annouces $4 Million Campaign Achievement

Clarksville, TN – On Monday evening, Dr. Mark Green and Joe Pitts announced that the Aspire Clarksville Foundation had garnered nearly $4 million in pledges, surpassing the current goal, and previous campaigns, by a wide margin.
Aspire Clarksville, an economic development foundation to benefit Clarksville-Montgomery County, Tennessee, officially announced in February that the goal for the entire Aspire V “Focus On The Future” Campaign was $3.8 million.

Clarksville, TN – Three prominent Clarksville automobile dealers, who have been strong supporters of Austin Peay State University athletics for decades, will be inducted into the Red Coat Society, Saturday.
Don Jenkins, owner of Jenkins and Wynne Ford Lincoln Honda ; Gary Mathews, owner of Gary Mathews Automotive Group, and James Corlew, owner of James Corlew Chevrolet Cadillac, will be recognized Saturday during halftime of the Governors’ Sears BracketBusters contest with Youngstown State.
