Welcome Home Veterans Celebration kicks off with Remembrance Ceremony, Wreath Laying

Oak Grove, KY – Welcome Home Veterans, five days of activities in Clarksville and Oak Grove to honor and celebrate American Veterans has begun. The events are once again hosted by Visit Clarksville.
The main location for this year’s activities will be Oak Grove Gaming, Racing & Hotel. A caravan delivering the exhibits, including the Korean War Memorial, The AVTT Vietnam Wall, and the Field of Honor Tribute to Veterans, traveled from Clarksville Regional Airport to Oak Grove on Wednesday.

Clarksville, TN – Visit Clarksville and Oak Grove Tourism Commission are partnering to host the sixth Welcome Home Celebration September 15th-19th, 2021. The five-day event includes a variety of free exhibits and activities, along with ticketed events like meals and concerts, all designed to show appreciation for the service and valor of America’s veterans.
APSU Board of Trustees presents awards, approves 2020-21 budget

Clarksville, TN – During the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Board of Trustee’s summer meeting on June 5th, 2020 trustees honored five individuals with the board’s annual awards – the APSU Philanthropist of the Year Award, the Govs Who Lead Through Military Service Award and the Govs Who Lead Through Service Award.
APSU students, Fort Campbell soldiers earn medals at 40th Annual Military Culinary Arts Competitive

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University made its mark on the national stage recently as active duty soldiers, including APSU students, stationed at Fort Campbell traveled to Fort Lee, VA for the 40th Annual Military Culinary Arts Competitive Training Event (MCACTE).
Held March 7th-12th, service members from the U.S. Army, other Department of Defense components and multinational teams squared off for the title of top military chef.

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County gathered together in front of the Montgomery County Courthouse yesterday to honor our veterans, as well as those who are still serving their country.
Military service is one of the highest forms of patriotism and with our close proximity to the Fort Campbell Army post Clarksville-Montgomery County is home to a significant veteran population. They are part of the fabric of our community.

The 96th Meeting
Clarksville, TN – The next meeting of the Clarksville (TN) Civil War Roundtable will be on Wednesday, March 21st at the Bone & Joint Center, 980 Professional Park Drive, right across the street from Gateway Medical Center. This is just off Dunlop Lane and Holiday Drive and only a few minutes east of Governor’s Square mall. The meeting begins at 7:00 pm and is always open to the public. Members please bring a friend or two – new recruits are always welcomed.
