Clarksville-Montgomery County Memorial Day Service honors those who died serving our Country

Montgomery County Veterans Service OrganizationClarksville, TN – On Monday, May 25th, the Montgomery County Veterans Service Organization held its annual Memorial Day Ceremony. Due to rain, the ceremony was held in the William O. Beach Civic Hall, Veterans Plaza in Clarksville Tennessee.

The ceremony was opened by Frank Mir, the Director of the Montgomery County Veterans Service Organization. Mir welcomed the dignitaries and attendees to the Memorial ceremony. The colors were posted by the 101st Airborne Division Honor Guard, and Stella McKnight sang the National Anthem.

Clarksville High School Theatre begins Season with Original Play, “Run!”

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – The Clarksville High School Theatre will kick off its 2013-14 season on Friday, November 1st with the opening of an original play by David Wesner.

The CHS production stars Jacob Sullivan in the primary role. Jacob is supported by Nic Hadden, Lane Chisenhall, Delany Atkins, Samantha Grimes, Jordan Sherley, Shaoyun Yang, Ashley Knowles, Lauren Pierce, Nigel Nyberg, Megan Beane and Daniel Ellis.

RUN! is about a random act of violence. Though the audience never sees the violence, the effect it has on a classroom full of students is clearly seen and felt. [Read more]

Clarksville High School Theatre Opens its 2010-2011 Season

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – The Clarksville High School Theatre opens its 2010-11 theatre season tonight with Margaret Edson’s powerful play WIT. This year, director Barbara Wesner has chosen a mature, moving drama that chronicles and celebrates the life of Vivian Bearing, a noted English professor of the seventeenth-century metaphysical poet John Donne.

At the rise of the play, Bearing steps to the edge of the stage and informs the audience that she has been diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic ovarian cancer. She continues by saying, “It is not my intention to give away the plot, but I think I die at the end. They’ve given me less than two hours.”
