Magic at the Museum returns December 17th

Magic at the MuseumClarksville, TN – Magic at the Museum returns just in time for Christmas to the Customs House Museum. Sponsored by Better Homes and Garden Real Estate, children of all ages will be entertained with balloon tricks, face painting and an incredible stage show featuring magician Russ Nowack.

The fun begins at 2:00pm when the Customs House opens its doors for a free tour of the museum, while children get their faces painted and watch balloon artists shape their favorite balloon character.

The 2011 Chevrolet Fireball Run Adventurally visited Clarksville Tennessee

2011 Fireball Run AdventurallyClarksville, TN – The 2011 Chevrolet Fireball Run Adventurally Southern Excursion made their scheduled stop in Clarksville, Tennessee, Thursday afternoon, and left out early on Friday morning on the final leg of their 2500 mile journey. The 2011 Chevrolet Fireball Run Adventurally began on September 24th on Florida’s Space Coast and concludes today in the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The 2011 locations included Melbourne and Jacksonville FL, Savannah, Atlanta and Peachtree City GA, Charleston, SC, Knoxville, Crossville and Clarksville TN, Scottsville, KY, Anniston AL, and Gulfport MS.

Participants this year included NASCAR legend Geoff Bodine, NASA Shuttle Astronaut Winston Scott, Actor/Activist Kevyn Major Howard along with 40 other teams driving everything from Bentley’s and Camaro’s. Of special note was the 9/11 Pentagon Car which commemorates the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon, it is inscribed with the names of the people who died on Flight 77; and the Officer Down car which honors the officers who swore to protect and serve, and did so even at the cost of their lives. Also participating was the DeLorean “Time Car” from Back to the Future, Transformers Bumblebee, and one of the police cars used in the Andy Griffith TV series.

Magic at the Museum returned to the Customs House Museum on Saturday

Magic at the MuseumClarksville, TN – Magician Gary Flegal gave an amazing show that stunned the auditorium full of kids and their parents at Magic at the Museum show on Saturday. The show was sponsored by Maurice And Terri Vaughn the owners of Better Homes & Garden Real Estate Hometown Connection. In addition to amazing magic tricks, the afternoon featured face painting, “Magic” favorite Russ Nowack making balloon animals for the kids, and a free tour of the Custom House Museum.

When it was time for the show to begin, the auditorium was packed full of excited kids and their parents. A few lucky attendees were allowed to assist with some of the tricks.

This free, two day music and arts festival features four stages of a variety of local, regional and nationally-known entertainers, delicious food, and fun for the entire family.

The music kicks off at 5:00pm, Friday, with a great lineup of Christian performers on the Mary’s the Music Store Stage to include Britt Nicole who will perform at 9:00pm. Ekoh, Black Market Research and UZoo – The Authentic U2 Tribute Band Experience will take to the Bud Light Stage on Friday night, followed by the ultimate Journey tribute band, Chain Reaction.

Organizations Invited to Apply for ABC Grants to Fund Arts Activities

Arts and Heritage Development CouncilClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Arts & Heritage Development Council invites organizations seeking funding for artistic and cultural projects that benefit the community to apply for an Arts Build Communities (ABC) grant.

Arts Build Communities (ABC) is a program funded by the Tennessee General Assembly and administered by the Clarksville Arts & Heritage Development Council (AHDC) in cooperation with the Tennessee Arts Commission (TAC). ABC grants offer financial support for arts projects in all disciplines such as dance, music, opera/musical theater, theater, visual arts, design arts, crafts, photography, media arts, literature, interdisciplinary, and folk arts.

The Museum will also be giving out information about tours of the museum for the upcoming school year.
