Clarksville, TN – Walking into the Planters Bank Peg Harvill Gallery of the Customs House Museum is like entering a new world through the rabbit hole. Walls and risers have become the temporary home of Mindy Herrin’s surreal creations.
A metalsmith from East Tennessee, Herrin creates sculptures and jewelry that seem to come from a dark, albeit beautiful place.

Clarksville, TN – On Tuesday, the Customs House Museum cut the ribbon on its newest permanent exhibit, “Becoming Clarksville: Honoring Legacies of Leadership.”
Through the prism of leadership, the exhibit explores the history of Clarksville and Montgomery County, focusing on the stories of individuals who helped shape the city, featuring unique interactive and video elements. Becoming Clarksville also serves as a legacy for the Clarksville Jaycees, remembering its history and contributions to the people of Clarksville.

2014 Cultural Calendars Now Available through Clarksville-Montgomery County Arts and Heritage Development Council

Clarksville, TN – The 2014 Cultural Calendar, produced by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Arts and Heritage Development Council, is now available online and at several local shops.
Each month of the calendar features an original work by a local artist, depicting a scene in Montgomery County, along with highlights of arts and heritage activities planned by community organizations for that month.

It is about being passionate enough to fight, compassionate enough to grieve, honest enough to be open. It is about ghosts and hopes,” states Dane Carder of his paintings currently hanging at the Customs House Museum.

Clarksville, TN – Cindy Billingsley is one of those few artists that both sculpts and paints. A traditional fine artist of more than thirty years, she is able to merge her passion for wildlife conservation and art.
Her newest exhibit titled Wild Ones at the Customs House Museum creates another chance to bring awareness to the plight of wild animals.

Customs House Museum Presents the 3rd Annual Laying Low

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, October 12th, Laying Low is back for its third installment to benefit the Customs House Museum. Originally created as a laid-back alternative to the annual Flying High fundraiser, Laying Low is an outdoor event suitable for the fall season.
