Jordan’s ‘Symbolic Summer’ Featured at Planters Bank Art Gallery in June

Clarksville, TN – The Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery will feature “Symbolic Summer” by Clarksville Artist Terri Jordan from Thursday, June 4th – Wednesday, July 1st.
A 20-year arts veteran, Jordan is the exhibits curator of the Clarksville’s own Customs House Museum, as well as a fine artist working in oils and acrylics. She has been involved with nonprofit arts organizations and has taught classes for Centerstone.

Flying High 2015 Soars in to Benefit the Customs House Museum

Clarksville, TN – Held the first Saturday of June each year, Flying High is an evening celebrating artists and the works of art of the region. Flying High is Customs House Museum’s preeminent fundraiser of the year, supporting educational and exhibit programming of the Museum.

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Arts and Heritage Development Council, in partnership with Austin Peay State University and the Tennessee Arts Commission, is pleased to announce the Eleventh Annual Clarksville Writers Conference, being held June 4th and 5th, 2015, on the campus of Austin Peay State University.
We are very honored to have as this year’s keynote speaker Sharyn McCrumb, award-winning Southern writer best known for her Appalachian “Ballad” novels, including the New York Times bestsellers The Ballad of Tom Dooley and She Walks These Hills, and the forthcoming Prayers the Devil Answers.
Customs House Museum Announces Award Winners in the Southern Watercolor Society Juried Exhibition

Clarksville, TN – The Customs House Museum hosted the awards reception for the Southern Watercolor Society’s 38th Annual Juried Exhibition on May 16th. The show features eighty-seven paintings. This year’s juror Kathleen Conover awarded 32 artists cash or merchandise prices.
The Best in Show was awarded to Z.L. Feng for In the Wood. Feng is an artist-signature member of the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society, and the Pastel Society of America (as master pastelist).

The museum offers an average of thirty temporary shows each year, and the current ones features a variety of styles and subject matter.
